How do you like it?

I like that. I'd love to see how it would fit in a B8/B8.5 sedan dashboard. I wish they were more like the Q5 dash pictured.

I am watching RSNAV treads for a while and I struggling to decide between big 10.25 screen and OEM looking 6 screen. And for what I see 8.8 is clear choice to me. OEM look with big screen. I will definitely buy this.

- Will the MMI buttons work for Android apps or is it touch only?

1. It works fine. Yes, it will automatically bring up rear camera and parking sensor stuff.
2. I will have some test result in tomorrow. It was the only reason that I was hesitating to release it. If everything went well, it would work on Android apps.
3. it has it's own mic. But still you can use your 3G MMI handsfree. Then again, you need to switch to the original screen.(This is not automatic, but it's just one tap - run 'Audi Interface' app)
4. 64GB was working. I am not rich enough to afford 128GB. Technically, 128GB.
5. Yes, you need to activate AUX in the green menu.

8.8 A4 package looks like this. The silver frame is also supplied. That's ips screen. Better than 10.1 inch(Regular TFT LCD). 7" is ips, 10.25" is ips.
However, 10.1 inch has the largest physical dimension. Also, it's 16:9. Aspect ratio is only great in 10.1 inch.

This sounds great so far.

Re 2.: How configurable is this? An important point for me would be how the MMI buttons map to Android functions as I prefer using the touchscreen as little as possible. Audi's stupid menu design is a big part of the reason why the original MMI is so useless, after all.

Re 3.: If I use the 3G MMI handsfree, what's the process like for receiving a call? I'm fine with switching to the Audi interface for outgoing calls, but I would prefer if caller information pops up automatically when receiving, and if I can take the call with a single button push. (Although if the built-in mic is good enough this won't matter anyway.)

Re 5.: I was referring to recoding the car systems with a VAG-COM thingy. So I take it this isn't necessary? (Provided I don't accidentally disconnect an airbag or something in the process, of course.)

Concert/Symphony systems have it written just above the cd slot in the dash, 2g/3g MMI have nav and the control buttons/knob around the shifter

Hi Grabie, and others that will want to install a 128GB MicroSD card, I can confirm this one works perfectly well. (as with many brands, some work, some don't ... so I can confirm that this one specifically does work 100%)
Samsung MicroSDXC EVO Plus 128GB

The card will need to be inserted into the unit and formatted using the native Android SD card manager utility to format the card for use before you pull it out and load all of your music, movies etc onto it. Once it has been formatted once, then it should be able to pulled in and out of the unit as you manage you music library etc on it. I formatted mine to be used in portable mode.
