Keyless Entry not working - Can see key in VCDS

    Guys I'm completely stumped.

Have tried all the various methods for re-syncing my key and none of them have worked.

    In VCDS
Under 46 Cent convenience, 10 adaptation, channel 21 I am able to put in a test value, press button on key fob, see fob recognized, and save.

Then when I go to 8 measuring blocks, group 007 I can see my key in the position I saved it. When I press lock, unlock, and trunk button I can see the applicable boxes in VCDS register the value.

This would lead me to believe that my key is synced, but the fob still fails to get any response from car. No lock or unlock :(

I also get the following code in VCDS
    00955 - Key 1
    35-00 - -

If I program the key to a different slot, the code follows the key.
    Eg.
    00956 - key 2

    Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    Daniel

Is there any codes related to the convenience module or door locks?

locking/unlocking with the button in the car, or the physical key turning works?

is the battery dead? i have a USB RTL-SDR tuner that can display RF from devices. this is how i determined that a battery that worked in one remote, did not work in another.

Have you tried clearing all the paired remotes and starting over?

Lock/unlock works when using both the inside cabin buttons, and the key manually in the door. All doors/trunk lock/unlock properly with this method.

Battery should be good. Just replaced with a brand new duracell, and as mentioned before I can see the remote in VCDS.

Have cleared all remotes by writing 0 value to channel 00 of 46 - Central Conv. From here re-synced fob, and still no response even though I can see the fob in measuring blocks 007 and responses to the button presses in VCDS.

Additional fault codes that I have seen are:
    Address 46: Central Conv.
    Controller: 8E0 959 433 BB
    Component: Komfortgerát T7B 1311
    Coding: 12104
    Shop #: WSC 63251
    2 Faults Found:
    01561 - Left Rear Door
    59-10 - Can't Unlock - Intermittent
    01562 - Right Rear Door
    59-10 - Can't Unlock - Intermittent

    Thanks again guys.

I get that rear door - can't unlock - intermittent one from time to time, but have never noticed an actual problem. I'm somewhat convinced that's just a software glitch (maybe it polls the doors before they finish unlocking sometime, I'm not sure).

so uhh I wouldn't worry about those codes anyway.

What method are you using to try and sync the key? I don't recall the specifics, but key in the driver door lock, turn key to lock door and press lock and then unlock?

What model year is your car and is this a new FOB or one that used to work?

Have tried all of the various key in door and key in ignition syncing methods.

Car is a 2004 and it is a key fob that used to work. It is the only one that I have ever had with the car. At one point I thought it was broken but suspect that it isn't now because I can see it on VCDS.

Was the CECM ever changed on the car? Also, are you following the Ross Tech procedure for pairing the remote? You can find a link to it at the bottom of this page as well as some troubleshooting info.

Problem is solved! I ordered another key fob and it synced on the first try using the method in the above link. So it looks like the fob was the culprit. The strange part about it is that I can see both the new and old fob in VCDS, both registering button signals, but only the new one actually locks/unlocks the car.

Thank you all for the help.
