How many people are running H&R OE Springs on stock shocks?

Just out of curiosity, looking to see how many people are running H&R springs on the OEM shocks/struts and how they are holding up. Post up if you're running this set up and for how long.

I did for a few months and the ride became bouncy and awful. Put on some bilstiens and the ride was way better. Don't do it.

I have been running this set up since late 2013. Looks and works great IMO.

If your car is high mileage then I suggest you go the coilover route or Blisteins/Koni and H&R OE Springs combo. I had just hit 100K miles when I decided to install H&R OE Springs with stock shocks and the ride was bouncy as hell! I ended up selling the H&R OE Springs to my buddy for $250 and installing Solo-Werks coilovers. Luckily, me and a buddy installed the H&R's ourselves so I didn't pay double for the re-install of the coilovers - I paid a shop to take out the H&R's and install the Solowerks.

2 of my stock shocks were leaking which explained the rough ride.

If you didn't buy the springs yet. Better off getting a matched set like bilstein pro kit. This will save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

I haven't purchased anything yet and if I do it will most likely be a full set up, not just springs. I was just curious though as to who was running the springs only.

Don't do it. Your shocks will fail relatively quickly and it won't ride as well. Go for the B12 Pro Kit or coilovers.

Yes. On a B8 Allroad, love it and no problem.

I've been running H&R OE springs for 4 years and have put 40k on them. stock non sport shocks have 75k on them. Absolutely no problems. Ride was initially a little to bumpy and harsh. I trimmed rear bump stops about 1.5" and it rides perfect!

eibach Pro Kit springs with stock shocks - the non sport stock shocks lasted only 40,000kms and the car started to pogo. i can actually compress them by hand when we got them off the car. Pretty much anything Bilstein is a better match than stock (Sachs was the OEM i believe?)

I think it's worth mentioning that there are different stock shocks. You can have non-sport, sport, or s-line.

Sport suspension is the same as S-line suspension AFAIK. There's standard and sport/S-line.

    I agree. Put 120000kms on b8 s4. SQ5 is perfect. No chance I'd spend the $.

In Europe, the s-line suspension is firmer than the sport suspension.

Look up Bilstein 8K0412103C shocks. These are tuned for the corresponding s-line springs and frankly, they work best at speed.

I've been running OE springs with non-sport shocks for 2 years. Shocks are still holding up great
