AvantoberFest 2015 - It's that time of year already?!

Most of you know this by now, but it is that time of year again where we being planning for one of my favorite weekends, Avantoberfest. Neil had the genius idea to create this event several years ago, and we want to keep the tradition going. Thanks Neil!

Once upon a time, Neil discovered that if we arrive at Stratton Mountain in VT early enough, there is a Beer Fest and Chili cook off. If you need to read further as to why you should join us, get your head examined. We drove to Lime Rock, then putzed up extremely scenic back roads in NY/CT to Stratton, VT where we then proceeded to park the cars for the afternoon/night and have some beers. It was awesome.

Where do we meet?
Per years past, we will meet at Danbury Mall in CT, here is the address:

7 Backus Ave
Danbury, CT 06810

When do we depart for VT?
Arrive around 7:30 to 8AM, leave Danbury by 8:30-9AM. We arrive in VT around 2-3PM.

What cars can come?
This will be a bit different this year. The event is now open to any and all cars, with the central theme of the event focusing on celebrating and appreciating the Wagon/Avant. Per usual, with Neil's Stamp of Approval™ other vehicles are allowed.

I want to do car stuffs then drink beers and get drunk!
Okay, awesome! We also do a "family dinner" in the late evening, if you don't want to drink you should at least stay and join us in that.

Also, I'd highly suggest reserving either a hotel room or something of the likes at the base lodge area. Last year my buddies and I split one 4 ways and it cost about $30 per person. Do it now before things could potentially get booked out.

Suggested things to bring
-2 way radio
-Camera
-Something for the cooler weather in VT (heavy sweater or coat)
-Empty stomach for the beer and chili
-Whatever else you might want

The cruise, the roads, Lime Rock and Octoberfest make this a " Not To Miss yearly event....

Actually what's funny (and depressing) is that my engine blew only a few weeks after last years run, and i will only be getting it back on the road a month or two before this years run.. Better late than never though.

FYI for all who may be planning to attend Avantoberfest this year and want to stay overnight at Stratton on Saturday and possibly Sunday. The condos and rooms at Stratton Mountain are booking up FAST for the chili and beer fest that is the main event for that weekend.

I highly recommend booking a condo/room at the resort as soon as possible if you want to avoid driving to your condo or house on Saturday night. The shuttle service is not something you can count on. Keep it safe and stay as close to the resort as possible.

In other news, based on early registration numbers, attendance for this years event is projected to be really strong. Keep a lookout for updates on the official website. We are in the process of nailing down all of the details and this year is shaping up to be the best Avantoberfest yet!

Hello all!

It probably been a yr since I last posted!

First and foremost ^ these guys are the best crew of Avant (some non Avant) owners evar to have Support an Event. They have nailed it on the head with the beginning stages of planning. I've been so busy with my job/work schedule that these guys took some ideas thru the yrs and are planning it with/without me......and its fucking AWESOME!

If the top of this thread doesn't explain itself enough then, come out and see for yourself... I will stake my reputation that you will have an Awesome time, meet amazing people and have a blast driving the back roads thru New England.
