Does anyone have a set of adaptive ecodes for sale? - facelift

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Guys,

I'm about ready to spring for ecodes but really am not in the mood to spend 1700 on an adaptive set. Can I use a non-adaptive set or will I get a fault code? Also, who has them for sale? Any used ones floating around?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Will throw a code, you need to get the adaptive if thats what your car has.

I saw a few sets floating around that people bought by mistake... I'm sure they'll chime in.

Ya, would help if you also put in you were looking for adaptive in your title.

Is there no way to disable the adaptive via VAG-COM?

I've not looked into it, but I believe it could given the many items that can be changed (SRI, overtaking blinks....) on the Touareg. HOWEVER I am talkng about a 2008 V8 FSI, thus no idea whether this is still possible on later models. For example for the models up to 2007, you were able to code in the "6 gun salute"; meaning you could flash headlights, parking and fog lights. As of the Touareg 2 series this was no longer possible.

I was just wondering, whether like with the TPMS or DRL you could disable them (yes you can do both on the Touaregs - I don't use TPMS in winter so I disable it. Same for DRLs as I installed some Audi LEDs and disabled using the (VERY expensive) DS1 HIDs for that).

Be careful. Many shops/people don't ship to the US. And the ones that do, don't always get their packages to the destination...

I ordered from a shop in Germany over 2 months ago and never received my Ecode (Yeah, I have the worst friggin' luck with Ecodes for some reason.) I think I will be able to get a refund, but it isn't definite yet. Just be cautious.

I have an uncle that lives there that might be able to pick up and ship a set from a dealer for me if anyone has the part numbers :)

1melska1 on ebay has sold multiple sets to the US .. he can get them .. ensure you specify adaptive or not

i personally got my ecodes from ahk-boerse on ebay .. it took a week from payment and i also got a DHL tracking number which then provided a USPS number to be able to track it when it got to the US

I just bought a set of lightly used adaptive ecodes from "1melska1", an ebay.de seller (referred by Dwelve). Our transaction wasn't done over ebay though. It came to $900 USD shipped (paypal). Took about 2-3 weeks to get here. Had them on for a couple days and so far, so good.

Good to hear everything worked out for you man, unfortunately I am back in the same boat of having to purchase a non adaptive set. A lesson learned of course.

As for everyone else, going the ebay.de route can be risky, but as you can tell you get more bang for your buck in my opinion.
