@ Dropshadow - here is a little clip to hold you over. I personally have heard this system and it sounds amazing on Duan's All-Road as pictured in the Magnaflow AD.

Thanks! I actually ordered it a couple days ago and it's already here. Just waiting on a couple more parts to arrive before it gets installed.

Youtube won't do exhaust clips justice. It's a nice mellow sound at idle, and it makes a lovely noise at full throttle. Sounds very nice outside, and the interior volume is easily controlled by the throttle. I am very pleased with it.

We're ecstatic to read that you love it. Those tips looks pretty awesome protruding from the valence that way, I have to say.

Does this exhaust remove the second resonator from the system? looks like there is only the pair of rear mufflers.

If you mean the resonator connected to the downpipe, no. The Magnaflow connects to the stock downpipe.

No, I meant the one after the downpipe. The factory has another resonator after the downpipe, the Magnaflow system does not seem to have this, it's straight piped until the rear mufflers.

I just put this on my Allroad last night and the very front pipe that connects to the OEM exhaust is straight resting on that small metal structural bracing that runs from the driver to passenger side. I can hear it clunking on it when I drive. Any thoughts?

So I got under the car again and just don't see what I need to adjust to raise the front of this exhaust pipe off the brace. Everything is tight, hangers are pretty much level on both sides. At this point I'm about to just remove the brace. Everytime I call Magnaflow I'm immediately put on hold forever.

This is looking from the back of the car towards the front..car is jacked up on right side.

I believe this is the same brace I had a challenge with on my AR, just space the brace down and away from the exhaust by using washers between the brace and the chassis. Worked like a champ on my car...

so after spending 6+ hours trying to adjust this exhaust and following the tips that Mark Miller from Magnaflow gave me, this exhaust is still fitting like complete $hit. Not only is the exhaust resting on top of the support brace, but the tips are not centered at the bumper (one is perfect, the other is making contact with the top of the bumper and off to one side. I tried explaining to Magnaflow that this exhaust needs to be basically redesigned slightly, as even J_Sims had to use washers to not have the exhaust sit op top of the brace. Magnaflow told me they would not accept this defective exhaust back, as it was MY FAULT it was not fitting properly. THANKS MAGNAFLOW, WAY TO STEP UP!!!

as a consequence, I placed a stop payment on my credit card and have already received the funds back to my bank account and notified the better business bureau about what went on. I will follow up with any updates as they become available. I would suggest holding off on purchasing this exhaust or even considering buying a different option until Magnaflow fixes their problems and fixes their customer service.

I ended up spacing the bracket down with spacers and also used a hose clamp to cinch up the passenger side exhaust hanger.

I will say 2 things about this exhaust.

    1. The driver's side muffler/tip doesn't appear to center. I happened to have access to 2 sets of these exhausts when I was trying to install mine, so we tried both driver's side mufflers and both hanger brackets are bent just slightly incorrectly so that the tips won't center properly within the exhaust tip opening. I think you'd have to bend the hangar bracket slightly to make it fit perfectly. I used washers on the hangar connection to the car, this helped slightly.

    2. My exhaust drones. I seriously am considering going back to the stock exhaust. I've had loud avants before and I just can't stand the drone, especially now that I just want a nice quiet daily driver. I've considered adding resonators as I really like the look of the exhaust, I wish this was an option from MF. And truth be told there are times when the exhaust is almost stock like quiet while cruising, but other times it rattles the windows in my house and my GF says she can hear me 2 blocks away.

Moonshiner, to get the tip positioning perfect, loosen the clamps and try twisting the muffler section and Y pipe slightly. Another tip for installation is to not completely bottom out the slip joints, as this can cause them to not align properly. You want them to sit with some slack in the connection. You can then retighten the clamps, starting at the front of the car and working backwards to the rear muffler.

You may notice the tone to be a little more bassy than usual in the first 500-1000 miles before the muffler packing material becomes worn in, but normally you should not experience drone like you are describing, unless you have other aftermarket exhaust components like a downpipe, etc. Members Dropshadown, Allroadcorbin and a few others here on the forum run this system, and we have not heard anyone report issues of this sort. They may be able to provide some

If the tip is not able to be aligned after performing those steps, please give us a call at 1-800-990-0905 so we can further assist you.

I just installed this cat back on my 15 and have the exact same problems. Center pipe resting on the cross brace and tips won't line up. I shouldn't have to redneck engineer anything to make this system work if it was designed correctly. Can someone please explain this bizarre thermal expansion going on here.

Sorry to bring this out the dead but I got this exhaust install and I have a little annoying drone cruising at 1800-2000 rpm on hwy. Everything below and above sounds ok. Also, in the morning on a cold start, the sound inside the car has so deep noise that it hurts my ear but it sounds fine outside. Is this normal?

Yes, stock DP. I had an AWE dp briefly in my black allroad with the Magnaflow exhaust but got rid of it because it droned terribly. Went back to the stock dp.

The tone you mention on cold start goes away after a couple minutes. Not sure if there's anything that can be done. I don't notice it anymore unless a passenger mentions it.

What about drone when cruising at 1800-2000 rpm on hwy? This happens when I'm on 494 going around 65 mph(1800-2000 rpm). Just slight tap on the gas gives this light drone noise.

Can't say I've got the same drone at those speeds. Or maybe I just don't notice since I've usually got music playing. The exhaust is definitely noticeable while driving, but I wouldn't call what I hear a drone.

It always mystifies me that people change their exhaust system, particularly the down pipes, and are surprised there is a drone at certain RPMs. You just have to manage the manipulation of the RPMs with to your right foot and accept that it will be louder at times. If there was a drone throughout the RPM range I would under stand the concern.

If you are referring to me then I have a stock downpipe. I was asking those questions because I have nothing to compare to. I'm not bashing Magnaflow but just asking others who had Magnaflow catbacks installed.
