I have gear display active & I didn't even turn it on. I was able to reset SRI after paying $5.99 then after I paid another $5.99 to turn off oil indicator it reset my oil change counter whic I didn't want. Now I will have to do an oil change just to make sure the oil change service counter is right. I also got a message about my "footwell lights not being compatible with this setting" I forget the exact wording but I have not driven the car since I did it. Will post update ASA drive it again.

I have all options checked for Windows/sunroof in Carista with no luck. And I was wondering in the future if there will be any drive select options because I have drive select showing up in my mmi but is gray and I cannot do anything with it.

I assume we've given you free beta access? If not, please email us at [email protected] and we'll certainly get you set up, so you can try everything else in the beta app for free (and also, we can refund the 2 charges you mentioned, if you wish).
Right now the inspection and oil service indicator reset functions are separate in the app and require separate payment, but we plan to unite them somehow. Still figuring it out. Also, you can reset the oil service indicator & counter through the MMI, so if you have an MMI, you don't need an app to do that.

We're still figuring out the wording and setup of this feature. To help us out with your feedback, please answer this: what did you expect to happen when you reset the oil service indicator? Clearly, the thing that actually happened (the counter was reset) was NOT what you expected.

For iOS Beta users, where are you finding the Gear Display setting? I searched high and low and reinstalled a few times and cannot find it. Am I missing something?

Thanks for giving me access to the beta. I was able to reset the SRI without any issues! Thank you! I also was able to remove that annoying beep noise when the lights are on and the door is open.

Hi guys, I just got the Carista dongle and app. Did all the standard light mods. I just noticed when I have the headlights in auto, my low beams are always on no matter how bright outside is. I made sure "use low beams for DRL" is NO. So I'm confused how auto mode is activating low beams all the time. Any thoughts?

Just curious where you found the drive select options? Cant seem to find it via MMI. Does the hidden menu need to be unlocked?

Would love to change the drive select as well (Android)

It's not available in the hidden menu. VCDS only.

I purchased the Pro version and I'm trying to use the electronic rear brake disable feature however I can't seem to get the Pro version to work.

I've emailed support but was hoping someone had some ideas!

Thanks for your response. I do have the Beta version which I ran. I'm not worried about a refund of the what I paid. In terms of the oil reset light, I have the oil can symbol that shows up in my DIS which I thought would go away after I added 1 quart of oil and verified with an ECS tuning dipstick. That symbol never went away. The "Service Due" notice however did go away.
I have also tried accessing the Green hidden menu by pressing Car & Setup and holding for 6 secs, but nothing happens.

I also have the Airconditioning options of which I noticed the aux heating symbol in the DIS but don't know how to turn it on of off.

Any of you beta testers know if Carista is planning to add mileage adjustment? I had someone with VAGCOM put the needed change in for me (100 to 106) but I'd like to be able to tweak with Carista later. It seemed like a straight forward thing to input.

So I've been waiting for gear display to jump in the ring. Am I correct that it is currently in beta so ultimately should be out soon?
I purchased the adapter and will just go pro when it comes. I also submitted for beta if they are still taking testers for Audi.

Another question, can I have the app on both my phone and my iPad? Does it identify based on my Apple ID?
It'd be nice to use it on ipad at home but be able to use it on my phone also if needed.

^ I thought gear display was out already. You can request to be on beta. You can use the app on both but there is a small process to get it on the other device. Todor mentioned it a while ago in one of these threads. Maybe he can chime in again, i'm interested too.

Its out, but not working on all vehicles thus why I suspect it is till Beta only given the bugs.

First time for hidden menu it didn't work for me so I disabled, saved and enabled and saved. After rebooting the MMI it worked

As stated previously for hidden menu hit Car first and then ht car and menu with a slight favor to car first and it will go right into the green menu.

For people doing the footwell lighting the above directions are correct. I have a B8.5 so the last setting below must be done after the first couple and a reboot. If you try to do them all at once the last one won't stick.
Once I did the reset and set the last option the Interior lights were enabled in MMI and brightness control works like a champ!

Enable Ambient Interior Lighting Control
[Hidden menu] [car] [carmenuoperation] [interior light] Set to 5
[Hidden menu] [car] [cardevicelist] [interior light] Enable
Reset MMI

There might also be a last step for B8.5 cars:
[Hidden menu] [car] [carbusassignment] [interior light] Set to CAN Komfort

I really should be a beta tester with my previous automotive technician career and my current 17 years of IT experience.

IF anyone is having trouble getting a setting to work I am happy to look at it on my car to see why it's not working for you.

Hey just wanted to share my Carista experience ...

Slightly confusing and TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Carista OBD dongle worked right off the bat. App saw the Carista OBD dongle with no issues. App let me then be able to purchase PRO version for $19.99. Done. Then I immediately made lots of changes to settings. Windows up/down with smart key, lap timer (for when I go to Starbucks) / oil temp, footwell lighting, no wink on DRL with turn signal. Some worked right away others needed "stuff". Didn't until reading this thread that I have to go in and enable "windows with smart key" in the MMI. Did that, boom, works! I also chose "flash turn signals with emergency stop" but didn't seem to work. Maybe i didn't stop hard enough, didn't get ABS activation so maybe too light of a stop.

I also think a complete shutdown of the car and restart made some items start working as expected.

Don't see "coming home lights time adjustment" = 10, 20, 30, 60 seconds. ?

I had a 2012 B8 and there were a few more options in the MMI than my 2015 B8.5. Maybe there gone permanently?

Anyway, LOVE this app / hardware combo! I support more development and new features even if there is a small upgrade cost.

loving the fog light being used for the corner light when the turn signal is activated past 3 blinks! really helps with night vision when turning right/left in a dark street.

As a note, if you want to turn off the door open chime, all you have to do is press the button on the bottom of the wiper control once. That will turn off the chime until you close/open the door again.

Been doing thought I thought someone had found a way to disable.
