The RS5 is a known beauty, as well as a savage in the automotive market. We wanted to accentuate both ends of that spectrum with this build. We set out to highlight the beauty of the car, as well as feature it's aggressiveness. What better way then with a proper stance thanks to KW and their HAS system, HRE P1 series wheels, and of course an Akrapovic exhaust system.

To begin we dove into the car getting the spring set installed. KW builds an amazing HAS (height adjustable spring) kit, which utilizes the factory damper system. We have done quite a few of these cars, and felt comfortable with our TAG standard for ride height.

The next stage was to line up our brand new set of P101's finished in a stunning Brushed dark clear. We wrapped this particular 21" set in the favored Michelin Pilot Super sports, and simply installed them with the wheels being cut to accept the factory lug bolts.

The final stage to perfect this car was to give it the voice that it was begging for. We installed a stunning Akropovic full Titanium evolution exhaust system. This system comes equipped with valves similar to that of the factory as to retain the Drive select feature for the exhaust note. This gives the car a proper "Jekyll and Hyde" characteristic.

    The full list of modifications:

-21” HRE P101 Wheels in Brushed Dark Clear Finish
    -295/25/21 Michelin Pilot Supersport Tires
    -KW Height Adjustable Springs (HAS)
    -Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust System
    -SPC Front Upper Control Arms

What do you guys think? If you have any questions at all regarding any of the parts you see, please feel free to contact us by clicking HERE or PM for more details.

Beautiful build, was considering doing the KW HAS system but decided to go for the full H&R Coils after being told I should replace the control arms as well (same price). Can you explain why you also did the SPC control arms?

When aligning these cars, beyond a certain drop point camber angles change to such a point that it is necessary. There is no oem camber adjustment point, and this can lead to a pull, as well as rapid inner tire wear.

Very nice setup!!! I wanted to go the KW HAS route a while back but read a bunch of reviews that weren't favorable to that particular setup. So I went the H&R OE springs....no issues for over a year and now my rear is starting to sit lower than the front.....so now it's time for an upgrade, this time it's a full Bilstein coilover install with SPC. I will continue to follow this build and hopefully your HAS setup keeps up longer than mine.

    Hi Sean,

Is there a definitive point (lowering amount) where replacing with adjustable control arms is necessary for proper alignment?

We have had great luck with HAS since they released it. That is odd that you are experiencing that sag with the rear. What are your thoughts on a KW coilover set?

Unfortunately, every car reacts differently. There really hasn't been a pinpointed ride height that has shown itself. In our opinion any drop at all is grounds for the arms. If for any reason at all just to eliminate any chance of a drift or pull.

Noted. My thought was: might as well while you're in there changing things around anyway.

Is the KW HAS all the way down on this car? And how much are these camber arms?

This stance was as low as we could go with this fitment without rubbing. The Height adjustables can certainly go lower though.

I've never run a KW coilover kit so I would not know. I don't have the KW HAS either.....I'm running H&R OE Springs on a 2013 S5 with ADS....I do have a pretty healthy sub system with one JL AUDIO 12W7 in the trunk that is causing the back to be lower. But when I measured last my specs were 27 1/2" for the front from floor to fender lip on both sides of the front and 27" on the driver side rear and 26 3/4" on the rear of the passenger side. So my back sits lower and one side on the rear is off. So Bilsteins IRC are in the mail as we speak and operation upgrade suspension will be in full effect come nest Tuesday!!!!!
