Ok the wire coming out from my car is yellow with blue stripe and the other one is yellow with purple stripe I believe

I traced the 3 wires coming out of the S4 seats and the brown and white lead to a ground to the Seat airbag Metal the other two wires are blue and brown wires leading to the air bag so which 2 wires join together to the yellow and blue and yellow and purple

Sorry--It just really bothers me when I see simple automotive terms that are spelled incorrectly. Break instead of brake is the biggest offender.

Anyway try sorting through these and PM some of the folks that have information. One knows the wiring, and others say to get the harness from the S4 that will hook in below the steering column.

haha. you know what bothers me and its not misspelled? when ppl call dampers shocks/shock absorbers. I know thats what most ppl were taught, but its wrong. dampers dont absorb any shock, the springs do

Agreed. I mean, dampers do exactly that--damp. Without them, you'd be continuing to bounce crazily your whole time driving.

I am running mine the other way, I have the 1998/1999 sport seats in my 2000 A4 which had 3 wire connectors and the earlier seats which had 2. Look at the wiring diagrams for both cars and you will find the later cars have a shield and then the exciter wire and the ground for the air bag. All you need to do is to use a different connector on the car or the body or you need to splice the wires from the seat to body.

When there is a problem in the connector and the air bag is on for the seat air bag the factory repair is to cut the connector out and crimp it with high quality crimps so you can do it this way. I bought the seat side air bag connector from the newer cars and then swapped this out with the old style plug that was currently on the seat. I just moved the two air bag wires over to the new style plug and ignored the shielded wire which is not used. On your car you would do the opposite, transfer over the air bag wires and just ignore the shield wire and either cut it off or seal it up and zap-strap it aside. You can buy the connector from ECS like I did or find a used one to make it plug and play or you can go the crimp route.

This is my new style plug on the other seats....

I wish it was that easy.. Now forget the shield wire..... The two airbag wires that are coming out of the car are different colors than the s4 seats

I used the wiring diagrams to identify each of the wires from both cars and then matched them that way because my wire colours did not match either.
