(
Was gonna put this in the track drivers section, but figured the masses might be interested)
Got my StopTechs on, they look awesome and performance so far is great. Had a chance to bed the xp20's, they require a pretty aggressive procedure

Rear rotors are on also, and no noise while braking. Ray (awesome owner of rayzer automotive) put some red goo behind the rear xp8's which you can see below, they don't come with anti-squeal shims, decided against using the stock ones. Ray used all 1.5L of the 660 to flush + install the calipers, was it necessary...I don't know...but he did it and I trust his judgement.
Installation - was pretty smooth, although he needed to use the stoptech SS lines in the front to connect to the caliper. So I have some goodridge SS lines that will go to waste

I needed 3mm spacers for the wheels to clear the calipers...I guess that's what I get for such a nice concave face. He was able to do the rear caliper without the vagcom parking brake disable, sounds like the piston moved back...dunno. The front pads look extremely easy to swap, just remove 4 bolts and bracket, push back pistons with hand or lever and remove pads. I have the Ti .5 mm shims in there, so hopefully less heat transfer to the pistons - > fluid. Once the rotors heat up, there's an interesting "clicking" noise that happens, which was explained to me as how floating rotors work. Essentially, as the Al in the hat heats up and cools, the hat shrinks/expands in discrete amounts, and slips on the little pins as it overcomes the static friction. It sounds like faint version of those little poppers going off.
All in all, just over 4k to get the setup I have:
$2400 ST-60 355 (thanks to R1 Concepts, definitely the best deal I could find);
$600 F xp 20/1521 R xp8;
$650 JHM rotors;
$60 RBF 660;
$100 .5mm Ti Shims;
$380 Install;
So in the end, I think it was completely worth it, but proof will be in the pudding lol.
Impressions - stopping feels so much better at the pedal, no compliance at all, brake balance feels pretty neutral as it did before. Can't wait to torture test these at Mid-Ohio this weekend

One issue I found is a strange noise while cruising on the HWY at around 80 mph, seems to be worse when the car is under power. My tech explained it as noise from the front rotors, the slots to be specific. Sounds slightly annoying, like a very faint buzzing speaker or loose trim piece. I'm not sure if it's the brakes, as I ran the car pretty hard.
Brake porn:
JMH Rotors are strangely slotted in the "wrong" direction relative to the vanes
Brake rotors don't completely fill out the wheel like a proper 380mm kit, but the calipers look gorgeous. Will still work with my 18's in the winter.
