RS5 BBK on B8.5 S4 installed

Thanks to the great deal from Audizine member r3ckl3ss. And the great work from Forced Induktion, i have bought and installed the RS5 BBK. With rear B8 RS4 rotors to seal the deal.

Brake feel and power have vastly improved, with the OEM clean look.

The parts are plug&play and no issue with clearance.

I do not like the OEM pads though, looking forward to replacing them with better ones.

Actually, they remind me of the motorcycle ones. They are exotic on the eyes.

Awesome, my RS5 rotors are now painted and ready for install Monday ! I dont have the wave rotors though but a good friend is keeping his eyes peeled for a set so I am likely sticking to stock pads and holding my new Hawk pads for the new rotors down the road. Cant wait ! Once they are on I can measure up for new summer wheels !!!

wait.. there's another '13 Imola yellow in DC???? when did you get it, and where are you? considering i've been driving into the city for work the last year, a little surprised i haven't spotted you anywhere.

3 months ago. Bought it from florida and drove back. I am staying next to silver springs. Pm me if you want to get together for coffee and compare & contrast.

Are the RS5 breaks heavier than the S4, or are they lighter? I thought I had read that they are actually heavier. Either way, they look sweet! Love the imola yellow too. I am from DC and my brother still lives there (in Bethesda) and he also drives a b8s4

He isn't in silver spring much but it is estoril blue and has a stasis exhaust and GIAC tune (I think that's it for now). Anyways..... NICE BREAKS!!

Also - what are you lowered on? H&R coilovers or sport springs?

Certainly not heavier. My Brembo calipers weighed in almost 50% less than the oem boat anchors.

Lighter than stock, rotors too. Dont forget they are 365mm. H&R sport sprungs 1.5", havent seen your brother around though.

You can find some on ebay. Fronts are a grand.

Are the rs5 breaks brembos? I didn't think they were? I would love to get some brembo's but just not in the budget at the moment... maybe in a few months, should be getting a nice bonus ;)

Some additional questions on your brake setup...are you using the stock rear brake caliper with the wave rotor in the back? How about the parking brake feature? Does that work as normal?

I am very interested in knowing difference in brake pedal travel distance. Do you notice anything different from the stock S4 setup?

I like the RS5 conversion concept a lot because it's very OEM in look and function...e.g. with the new pad wear sensors, everything functions like before.

Just checked ebay real quick too and didnt see any kits for a grand as mentioned, if i read that correctly. Sounds like that would be a steal. How much larger are these from the OEM setup as far as overall diameter? I found that the 19" AG M590's dont work with aftermarket BBK's because of the barrel so now am wondering if the RS brakes will work.

Found new kits on ebay for over 2k and 4k

Its a special color, sticker sheet listed it for 2500$, you have to special order the car.

Well, i do not have technical numbers, or 60-0/feet. But when you drive around in your car enough you would know if something is different. i am getting twice the brake power in my opinion. i am not getting enough bite from the OEM pads though, this is why i want to change them.

I meant front rotors. not the whole kit.

The original owner paid 4980$. You can probably get them for around 3500-4000.

With your wheels do you need to run spacers?
