Audi B7 Navigation Disc

Hi Folks,

I just bought myself my first Audi B7 . Unfortunately, it had an outdated navigation disc. Is there anybody on this forum who could provide me with a more recent dvd/cd for North-America. I have the RNS-E system and would greatly appreciate the help. I looked over some other threads, but they were relatively outdated as well.

you can download em off the interwebs and burn em yourself. i'll let you search for it yourself but its really easy to do u just need the right type of DVD which iirc is DL (dual layer) DVD+R

from my experience it depends on your burner settings. I've had issues burning on Windows. but have burnt multiple copies on different brands of dvds with my Mac through disc utility

go to fucking best buy, get a 10pk of CD's

burn all 10 (each will take a few hours IIRC) at the slowest rate on the right type of DVD with the right file.

do not move or pick up computer during this time.

insert one at a time until one works. if it pulls up the map then it works. if it updates you to SW260 then u had an older firmware before that - during this time your music will be locked at that volume (just fyi)

I ended up with coasters when i used Memorex ... 2/2 on Verbatim DL. I just used the standard burn utility on my PC.

Just an FYI, if you're planning on going the legit route, the 2013/14 disc is just around the corner from being released. Been talking to my local dealership about an updated disc for a couple months now because I didn't want to buy a disc that would soon be replaced. Sure enough, Within the last month or so, their catalog now lists the 2013/14 disc; however, when they called the warehouse for more information, they were told that they won't be available to order for a couple months.

It will probably be close to, if not 2014, before they start ordering that disc. I'm keeping in contact with suppliers too.

It is a steep price to pay for what may or may not be useful updates. There's a large difference in my traveled area between the 2010/2011 and the 2012/2013, not so much with the 2013/2014 that I have found yet, other than POI's and some of the updated construction on major interstates and newer developments is complete. Not that useful since I know those areas anyway, but it could come in handy elsewhere with the traffic data of the new gen RNS-E.

Also, the software doesn't update for the factory 8E0 units, only the 2010+ units from the A3 or SEAT Exeo retrofits. Depending on whats going on in your area, I wouldn't expect too much of a difference unless you're on 2010/2011 or previous maps.

The disc is the same. The software remains at 260 for the older units and updates to 230 for the newer units.

This. Personally, I just stick with Google Maps on my trusty Android devices. No costs other than my data plan.
