Yet another build thread from this guy.

I owned a DSG B8 S4 last year for about 5 months, then decided that I wasn't quite clicking with it, so I traded it in for a Prestige B8 A4 Avant, because I missed having a wagon. As I soon learned, once you've owned an S4, nothing else will compare. So anyway, I'm back.

I picked up this brilliant black S4 last Thursday night. 6MT, black alcantara, carbon inlays, sport diff, advanced key, 3G+ Nav, Audi Connect, etc.


The V6T badges were the first to go, and I got a clear bra installed on Saturday:

Since I had parts leftover from the first S4, and had spent all winter building a pile of parts to put on the Avant in the spring, I was all set to start in on this one right away. So tonight, with just 296 miles on the odometer, I had H&R coilovers and Hotchkis H-Sport sway bars installed. I also picked up a set of Avant Garde M510s after seeing JOS4AUDI's thread:





Currently it's got 5mm spacers all around, but it rubs a bit in the rear, so I may step down to 3mm spacers. I'm no stranger to rubbing, so I might stick with this setup for a little while. Meanwhile, the break-in period is killing me while I try to drive responsibly. I have since removed the front plate mount (I don't know if I'll put it back on once I get my plates) and put in a set of Hoen xenon-match foglights. So far I'm extremely happy with the car.

The prices are out there. The price I paid wouldn't be typical because I got a good deal on them.

I should also mention that all the work tonight was done at Imola Motorsports here in Minneapolis. Amazing shop with a great staff.

Looks very good. I was seriously considering those wheels. What was the final dimensions on the wheels? Did you go with the 19x9.5 ET40 like JOS4AUDI?

For the break-in, I don't think you need to baby the car. To each their own, but after reading many threads on the forums I chose the hard break-in like many others have to seat the rings properly. Just let it warm up for 10 minutes beyond when the water temp gets to the normal spot and then do a few runs to redline and then make sure to engine brake (which is equally important). I'm a bit over 10K miles and I have no oil burn.

Yes, these are 19x9.5 wheels on 255/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sports. It only rubs in the rear over big bumps, just like my B7 did.

Wow!!!! Honestly my fav B8.5 the wheels and drop set it off!!!! Love the 5mm spacer looks great. I'm rubbing very minor in the rear now with 3mm but I'm super low on coils. Great job man loving this!!!

Your custom color is going to be what makes yours stand apart! I can't wait to see it in person. Aside from the peelers, I can't tell what car that is in the reflection.

We found this car in Chicago. I was looking for a car with 19s, but I'm glad that I got this one with 18s, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten the M510s.

3M ClearBra on the hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors. Might go back for A-pillars coverage too.

Looks sweet. I traded my 2010 6spd Imola S4 for a 2013 Ice Silver DSG last June and now I'm trying to get back into a 6spd. Prob not gonna happen but worth a try. DSG isn't bad but 6spd is way more engaging. Should have kept B8 or been more patient.

Dude, I keep thinking about how great your car looks on the new wheels. I figured I'd better step my game up.

Thanks for all the comments, guys. I suppose if this is going to be a proper build thread, I should list the rest that I've done so far:

- LED kit from KRAutoLED.com
- Hardwired V1
- iPhone 5 cradle from ProClipUSA.com
- Weathertech front floor liners
- Audi OE carpeted trunk mat

I was supposed to get the car tinted today, but I'm kind of digging the fishbowl look. If I do tint, it'll be 50% to keep it light. I'll probably order a set of 3mm spacers, but otherwise there's not much more that I want or need to do to it for the time being.

Future plans:
- Intake, probably AWE
- Alu Kreuz at some point
- Maybe a chip sometime down the road, but not for a while. I like the feeling of having an intact warranty for a change.

Rims looks perfectly matched to the angular lines on the facelift.
I might have to go for these for my next set of wheels.
So you are basically at 19x9.5 ET35 all around with 255/35/19 tires sitting on coils.

Tell me is there 2 more mm of space to go ET33?

It's tight at ET35 in the rear. 33 might work but you'd definitely get rubbing if you go low.
