The Q7 Brembo's look like a great deal too. You can get the calipers, pads, and drilled/slotted rotors for $800-1000 on Rockauto.com. If the Q7 brakes are a direct swap without any need for customization, I would do this!

17z calipers are not a direct bolt on, custom caliper carriers and rotors would be necessary. I tried to install the 17z kit when I pulled them off my totaled GTI, no luck getting them to fit, offset of caliper to rotor was way wrong and there was contact of the brake body to the knuckle.

As a budget BBK the Q5 4 piston calipers and S4/5 rotors work well:

The fronts I know will work I just need the carriers, which has been a work in progress I just need to get back on top of it. I keep putting it on the back burner. I just need to have a meeting with a friend of mine about the carriers, then it would be set. This is for the 18z.

Awesome! Keep us up to date please! I want to do this upgrade on an b8 s4 since I'm not willing to spend $3-4k on stop tech for for the look only (I'm not a fan of track racing) hope to see some progress soon!

So I have heard that the Cayenne brakes fit some VDubs and was wondering if anyone knows if this can be done to our B8's? I was thinking of piecing together a set but I don't have a clue. I tried searching the forums and have head now official answers. Also checked google .

...why dont you go to your local junk yard , find porsche brakes fit them on yours and see if you can conjure any kind of fitment. Thats what I did, got my porsche brakes out of junkyard for 80$ replaced the ss lines and thats it.

Details please: Porsche model and year, both rotors and calipers are from the Porsche, rotor size, and most importantly what are you using for caliper brackets???

I have Porsche brake calipers. They are the 18z cayenne 6 piston brembos. I am working on the brackets to make them fit properly and function as well as they do on the cayenne, meaning that all the same dimensions of rotor and caliper are placed accordingly

Audirings4, do you have part #s for these calipers for the front? I would like to upgrade to the 4 piston on my b8 A4. I currently have already upgraded to s4 rotors and carriers. Thanks

Not much.

For an S4 or S5 only calipers and pads would be needed.

For an A4 or A5 the rotors, calipers and pads would be needed and splash guards optional.

Are the B8 hubs significantly different than the B7? I'm not sure why anyone would drop $3K+ on a Brembo BBK when the Cayenne/Q7/Touareg brakes are available at a good price. For the B5/B6/B7 kit (all of those use the same hubs) you can piece together a 350mm kit for <$900.

Also, I have a set of 330mm 6-piston Touareg brakes available if anyone is interested.

That's just for the discs though, which to me are the least of a concern, it's finding calipers that fit correctly without too much modification.

Truism I saw 330 and thought rotors automatically I guess I should read with detail haha

So I ran into a problem with RS5 rotors and the Cayenne calipers. I believer the calipers will fit perfectly with a small bracket but a 365mm rotor is just not big enough, I will be quadruple checking but I may have to go with a custom rotor hat and ring :(

It keeps going on the back burner. But funny that you asked because today I was talking with one guy I may use to machine some parts. I keeping running into road blocks and get discouraged but I am still trying to crawl forward.

Not really, my next idea is buy a Porsche cyanate Brembo ring or any other brand that make BBK for the cayenne, deciding what is bets for the money and make a custom rotor hat to fit the bolt pattern for the ring and hub for the b8 chassis

I'm sure you could find a Mercedes rotor that fits.

Yes they fit but not perfectly, one brake pad would end up touching the rotor before the other. I was trying to put something together that works to the best it can. But this is definitely an option.

Could you put a few washers between the caliper/upright to center it on the rotor? Or put a small spacer behind the rotor? Just trying to think of economical ways to do it.

I would just make the bracket to accommodate for the offset. But I think it's the thickness of the rotor that is also different. Ill have to check again. It has been awhile

That's nice^ 19z is a little too big for my taste. Plus i was going for all four with a functioning electric brake for that price. I just need to pull the trigger on rotors. I know I'm supper slacking in this.
