RS5 Photoshoot with new BBS CX-Rs rims

I had the privilege to do a short photoshoot with my 4 week old RS5 and its new BBS CX-R 20'' x 10'' rims (Anthracite Accent).

The weather was so cold that I forgot to do more closeups of the BBS rims, but I think that I was able to capture some nice backgrounds along with some RS5 foreground pics.

I'll add more close-ups of the BBS rims via more full-side shots later this week.

Your comments are appreciated and encouraged.

This was the nearest I could park the car to the plane. There was a much closer spot, but an airport security jeep denied permission for driving closer to it. BUT, I was able to take it with another plane landing behind the Fedex plane.

Great pictures, great car and great wheels.

One suggestion though....keep the front wheels pointing straight when taking pictures of your car. It looks much better than having them turned.

I really like them You don't see the CX-R's often. With the two finishes, they look really crazy at night as the painted spokes kind of disappear. Of course would look twice as good with a mild drop;)

The idea, I'm sure, is to add energy to a shot. A car with its wheel turned looks like it's been stopped mid-action where a car with its wheel straight looks like it's sitting motionless on display. Personally I think the answer is different for every shot but if the wheels are turned, showing more of the wheel face as opposed to tire tread is the right choice.

Yup, some of the pics require the wheels turned into the photo (to show the rims instead of the tires). I needed a few more of those.

Yes, the RS5 requires a mild drop. On the plus side... I had to go over a short, angled road-curb to take the Richmond Oval pictures (the pictures on top of the blocks with the big blue building in the background). Then, when I left that area, I mistakenly drove over a HIGH curb. That was idiotic. My front wheels took the brunt of the weight when I went down onto the road. So... in hindsight, if my car was lowered, it MAY have damaged the side skirts or worse.... damage the under carriage oil tank or parts. But, all in all, the RS5 requires a slight drop, barring any "accidents" over high curbs.

Yes, more pics with the wheel face being shown is better than the tire thread. Though, showing the tire thread shows the wide width of the tires... I stretched the stock P-Zero run flats from its original 9'' rims to 10'' (to save on changing tires).

Vancouver is basically next beside its airport. It's like a 20 minute drive to the airport anywhere Vancouver proper. I took a guess and went down a side road near the cargo area where I knew there are Fedex planes. I just did not ever hoped to be THAT close to the plane. I was lucky and the plane was parked near the fence. I could have drove even closer as in right next to the plane. But a security jeep (for the airport co.) stopped me. I had the courtesy to ask the security guard in the jeep if I could go closer, and he said no, which was understandable. Maybe, I should have just ignored him, not ask him, and just pass him, take a few shots within 30 seconds before he does a choke hold on my neck.

The mountain pic was a chance picture near the same Fedex plane location. I saw the landscape and I thought... I needed some backside shots and voila... coincidentally, a great landscape background shot WITH the backside RS5.

Yes, it was parked there for a few days and it had the 5 rotor OEM wheels, which IMO, looked too "normal" and unappealing.

Absolutely stunning car! Also a posting tip - instead of quoting a bunch of times in a row and answering each individual question use the muti-quote feature!! Where you click "reply" or "reply with quote" it's the very last option. To use this feature, left click it on each post you want to quote, then once you've selected all the ones you want to quote, leave one where you'll click "reply with quote"

This will have all your quotes in one post. Then you can go down the line and answer them underneath as you wish. Make sense? Doing it this way will save you from having to post multiple times.

Wheels are spot on, I had a hard time between choosing you BBS or the Vossens for mine.
Only reason I didn't was I couldn't get them fast enough. Car looks great.
I cant wait to dump my S5 for an RS5, in Red of course!!!

What's the offset on the wheels?

They are 25, the same as the stock wheels, except I changed it from 20'' 9'' to 20'' 10'' so required some adjustments.
