    H&R vs Eurocode Sway

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I tried searching but couldn't find....

I seem to remember reading as post from someone who was able to directly compare H&R rear sway vs Eurocode sway system. Does anyone have 1st hand experience with both of these systems installed on same car? I.e changed from H&R to Eurocode? If so, any substantial difference?

    Thanks in advance,

I think Phil@detailersdomain made that exact switch on his build thread.

HR only has a rear sway. Eurocode has front and rear.

I would highly doubt there would be any noticable difference between the HR and Eurocode REAR sways if you were able to compare just the two. Both are going to be a good upgrade from stock. The HR is 24mm non adjustable and will cost you 200 bucks. The Eurocode is 25.5mm and IS adjustable. I don't konw that you can buy only the rear from Eurocode though so it will set you back 550 bucks... So either go with HR if you only want rear. If you want front as well go with Eurocode. I'm not sure that the front sway is necessary especially if you are going with the Alu Kreuz. Going only with the rear will help more against understear and give the rear a little more wiggle than going with front as well...

It's a combination of the end links with the sway bars. I'm sure if someone switched my rear bar with the H&R bar (keeping the end links on) I personally wouldn't be able the tell the difference. If you are comparing the full USS system with the H&R rear sway they would be completely different. Spending $1000 on sway bars and end links is definitely not something I would have ever considered, but after reading all of the reviews I decided to try it out. Would I do it again? Definitely.

Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking about purchasing just an H&R rear sway and a set of end links. What do you think about that combo?

Compared to the professionals on this site my thoughts are rather meaningless. I am an engineer and realize that a lot of effort went into the overall design of the car, but the stock end links are garbage. Everyone knows that plastic does not direct nor resist force anywhere close to that of titanium. I'm sure the H&R bar is okay alone, but with the end links it would be that much better.

A full set of H&R sway bars (front and rear) retail for $628.00 ($329.00 front and $299.00 rear). We sell our bars for $549 for the set or $279.00 each if purchased ala carte. Our bars also include $48.00 woth of OEM hardware that MUST be replaced each and every time you remove it from the vehicle.

Of course price is not the only comparison, our rear bar measures 26mm compared to H&R's 24mm and has two adjustment settings (the only rear bar for the B8 that does), our front bar measures 32mm conpared to H&R's 24mm and has two adjustment settings (as well as H&R's) more than size and pricing sets us apart.

We spent quite abit of time and many product revisions in the quest for what we feel is the perfect balance of handling and drivability. The reviews on our product speak volumes on how it performs. If you have any futher questions please feel free to PM us and we will glasdly answer or you can always give us a call at 310-294-8108.

I have the Hotchkis F/R sway bars (already had them on the car), the Eurocode endlinks & Alu Kreuz. It is better than stock for sure.

The majority of our sales are for the entire USS system to include front and rear endlinks. The endlinks are a major improvement over the factory pieces which are made up of ABS plastic and have rubber bushings inside.

The bushings on the OEM links are pressed into the plastic housing and they do not rotate. This keeps them from articulating when the suspension raises and/or lowers (as in typical driving). We have seen the factory links show pre-mature signs of aging after a few thousand miles.

Another advantage of the USS link is that with the sealed, spherical bearing the transfer of energy is much more precise and predictable than the rubber bushing found in the OEM end links.

Just curious, what is the endlinks and the sways made of? How do they hold up against Canadian winter and salty roads?
