Just heard from the body shop that the roof spoiler is painted and on the car. They have also installed the S4 mirrors. I'm out of town till tomorrow night, so I will have pictures and a further review later this week. I also have the part numbers for the mirror covers in case folks want the OEM items - the Allroads do not use the latest S covers as an FYI.

Sorry for the delay in updating the thread with progress, business travel has made it difficult to get a good update in.

As my car hits 20k miles and its one year anniversary, I can't be more pleased. I'm thoroughly enjoying the AR.

Firstly, I had the S4/S5 mirrors installed and I think they look great. For anyone who's done these, they know it's a straight swap and very DIYable. Takes maybe an hour to do. As I'm not blacking out my trim, these suit the look of the car nicely. The real challange was getting the right part. I had recieved various bits of advice on which type of mirror I needed for the 13 Allroad here in the US. Well, it's NOT the same as the 13 S4's. The part number for anyone interested in these is:

8T0857528A and 8T0857527A

I also had the replica RS4 rear wing fitted. The finish and paint job are great (took them around 2 hours prep) but at the moment, I only have it attached with 3M as I wasn't 100% sure it was a keeper. Therefore, it's not as flush and clean (OEM looking) as it would be if I have it bonded. However, the more I see it, the more I like the look of it. At first, I thought it would be too much - but over time, it really is growing on me.

As usual, a couple of shots attached, but happy to take more if there is a need. Updated the first post with links.

Did you replace the entire mirror assembly or are these just the caps? I just recently scratched one of my mirrors trying to squeeze past some a-holes car that took up the whole alley and I was thinking about adding this mod to my 2013 A4.

Sorry to hear it fella. You can replace just the covers - no need to replace the whole assembly.

Luckily is was just the cap. You really can't tell when looking at it but I know it's there. Should have gotten out and folded the mirrors back but oh well. Gives me a reason to upgrade! Thanks for the info zee!

Zee, I've been an avid follower and fan of your build thread on this, and other forums, since I purchased my own allroad last year. The updates that you and other members have provided has given me inspiration to enhance and update my allroad.

I really like the look of the RS4 replica roof spoiler. Can you tell me where or how you purchased it?

I'm talking to folks in Germany on the replica roof spoiler - I know there is a lot of interest, so please be patient. I'm trying to see if they are willing to make more.

Update on activity:

APR Flash - well, another day speant at another installer, and unfortunatley, my ECU is not ready to be flashed yet. I know APR are working on it, but (like the REVO atempt), they pulled the ECU, atempted it, and a flash still isn't available. Frustrating, but - it is what it is.

B8.5 S4 Grill - Another no go. I bought a lightly used grill a couple of weeks back, and having taken the existing grill out, the A4/S4 grills do not work on the Allroad. The dimensions, although close, do not line up. So, there will be a S4 grill up for sale in the classifieds for cheap shortly for anyone with a B8.5 A4 who may be interested.

Coilovers - We did successfully install the coilovers, but frankly, they sit too low for my liking. So, I'm back to my original S-line set-up, and am likely to stick with that (with my uprated sway bars and AZ). Coilovers will be going in the classifieds too for anyone with a B8 or B8.5 Avant.

So, not much luck overall, but I'm trying.

Next in line - RS4 avant replica roof spoiler. I have one coming from Germany to test. I will continue to post updates.

And in for EC's pulley - waiting for the GB...

I'd like a little bit less fender gap then you have and was thikning that using stock S4 or RS4 Avant springs would probably do the trick. Did you look into this? Any idea if they'd get rid of a bit more of the gap? I'm planning on running 20" wheels so think the S-line suspension with another inch in wheel size may not look low enough.

Yes, I did consider both S4 and RS4 avant springs, but frankly, as neither model is available in the US, I didn't explore too much. No worries.

I swapped the whole lot (struts and springs - I figured, they were mated as such from the previous Avant, so I may as well do the whole lot). I also did front and rear sways and a few other things - not required by any stretch of the imagination, but none the less, I did them for handling more than anything else.

Sorry for my tardy response.

Firstly, I have 4mm spacers on the front and 7mm at the back. Pictures below. I have never had the tires catch any of the fenders, which is what I wanted. You may be able to go wider, but I went a little conservative to avoid any issues.

Secondly, I went for as tall a tire as I could on my 19x10s so that I didn't sacrficie too much ride quality. Is the ride as comfortable as the 18s? No. Do I use the car for my 60 mile round trip daily, and with my 2 year old and 3 month old and wife at the weekends - absolutely, and its just fine. I ran 20's on my S5, and that was lowered - so using that as my benchmark, this rides like it's on a cloud!

My honest assessment is - for the improvement in handling and stance over the 18s, I would do this over again in a heartbeat. No regrets or concerns.

I've not posted an update for a while, and frankly not a lot has changed. I have 26k miles on the clock, just been through the 25k service, and the car continues to be great. I have my winter wheels on for the next couple of months. I have thoroughly enjoyed the wagon, but it's time for me to hop back into a V8. I miss my S5 - and have decided to pull the trigger on a 2015 S6. More to come on that in the next few weeks/months, but I wanted to put it out there as I will be parting out my car in the Spring. I will be listing the parts up in the classifieds, and will mail most items in the US except for the larger pieces.
