Lets get this out of the way, im hardwiring b/c the wiring up to my original plugs is shot + i hvae 1 bad icm and 5 bad coils.

    Sooooo.

Does anybody know/ have any expierence in hardwiring in, or know of another thread?

I believe on the original coils, 3-pin, its 2 grounds and a signal. Anybody know which are the grounds and which are signals?

on new coils 4 pin its, 2 grounds, signal and power.

    Anybody have diagrams?

    Real quick:

    On OEM 3 wire connector:
    Pin 1 (1)= Signal
    Pin 2 (4a) = Ground
    Pin 3 (15) = +12v

    on 4 wire connector
    Pin 1 = +12v
    Pin 2 = ttl ground
    Pin 3 = signal
    Pin 4 = ground

Thanks guys for the quick reply!!

I saw tht 2.0t teaser thread but the wiring diagram seemed more complex than it needed to be.

thanks max, ill follow what you go by and report back and make a DIY

    What is the TTL ground??

And i did not see numbers above the pin so how do i know which one is 4 and which one is 1?

    Thanks :)

on the S4 harness red/green is 12+ and brown/yellow is ground the other colored wire on each plug is the signal.

the TTL just gets grounded to the head, i went to a valve cover bolt its the skinny brown/yellow wire coming from each 4 wire connector.

Lots of ICM delete, TSI coil packs for 1.8T out there.
Same benefits (weak/failing/expensive stock coils and ICM, stronger spart, larger gap (0.040), etc.) applies to 2.7T?

I plan to start with one of my 1.8T AEB (one is having misfires, even with new plugs), than move on to my 2.7Ts.

Best source to get the coils (and required - as I understand - spacers)? I saw some good looking Bosch "R" (for red).

Also, seems there are Hitachi (bold down) and Bosch (plug in) available, and several versions for the TSI. Which one(s) are best and why?

Dealer Bosch coils for 2.0 tfsi are the best. Eldor ones for earlier engines are crap.

Bought Bosch coils (red) and spacers (red) from intergrated engineering (not sure about the function of the spacer; only side slots of coils reach into them).

Also got the ECS harness. Plugs for coils fit, what what are those 2 wire looms with loose pins for? where are they going?

I thought I need to cut off the ECU to ICM 5 pin connector and hard wire to ECS harness. Not so?

    Need some help.
