HELP - Electrical Issue with my A4 2009

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Help, I've been having issues with my car for the past few months and the dealership can't figure it out.
Audi A4 2.0T 2009, Premium Plus, Automatic, 6x,000kms, everything stock.

It got to the point where my car wouldn't start. Twice, i would get in and the car has NO power. I would have to jump it with another car and it would work perfectly.
I have no errors in VCDS.

    I'm having two issues.
    1) Power Flickering in the LCD and all the electrical bulbs.

    2) The Radio Screen and music Turn off and then back on after a second.
    Here is an example
    i) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tVGlUQg6oE
    ii) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q07uWZ2mcOc
After I leave the car off all night then use it, it usually happens within the first minute. It also happens randomly.

    - First thing they did was checked the alternator and then replaced it

    - Problem persisted
    Replaced A/C Relay - Part# AUD 4H0951253A.

    - Then Replaced CanBus Wiring

    - Then Replaced Ignition Module
Next day mechanic couldn't turn on the car... It's still at the dealership.

Anyone seen anything like this before?
    Any ideas?

That's weird! Never seen that before. My battery is getting tested as we speak, as the car is almost dead if I don't drive it for a few days. This never happened before (I'd leave the car at airport parking lots for a week at a time without problem) but I guess after 3.5 years my battery is nearing end of life. Good luck!

My Battery was replaced back in November. It's less than 6 months old.

Perhaps just try to replace the battery again. I'm sure the dealer would have a battery lying around somewhere?

That's crazy. Sorry to hear that. I understand how frustrating sh!t like this can be.

When the battery was replaced was that done at the dealer or did somebody other than an Audi tech do it. Reason I ask is that you need to tell the ECU that its a new battery because it charges the battery differently as it gets older and if you didn't tell the system its a new battery then it would continue to charge it the same way as your old dead battery... and will eventually kill your new battery...At least that is what the Audi service manager told me when I argued about paying them to replace my battery. Could be BS but it makes sense in a way with all these "smart" features our cars have.

Although...this doesn't really sound like a bad battery. Could be lose ground wires or something crawled up into your car and started eating some wires? I'd assume they already ruled that out?

Battery was done at Audi. What they need to do is code the battery. If you have VCDS it's simple to do.

So what exactly does coding the battery do? (for the battery or ECU?)

So I read that whole thread and like half the posters on that thread claim they never had to code anything and didn't have a problem. Is the coding only required for certain years or batteries?
