    where does the 4.7uF grounding capacitor go?

    i heard it clink and land on the floor as i was moving my wiring harness around. its part number 0310 025 017. Thanks! this is for an awm.

    i looked everything is there for the flux cap. maybe this goes on the Mr. Fusion?

    i found it. it goes to the wiring harness to the coil packs to ground to the valve cover

    Seems like that wire breaking is pretty common.

    But the capacitor itself is not really necessary. Most 1.8T's do not have them as far as I have ever seen. Is yours a 2001.5?

    Mine is a 2001. I'm just going to replace it with a generic capacitor if I can't salvage mine. There is like 1mm of copper I can solder to. it's going to break again eventually unless I add ton of strain relief and potting.

    I know the 30v's have these, I wasn't aware the 1.8s had them though. The 40v V8 has 2 of them, and they are bolted to the fuel rail. It is my understanding that they are used to help suppress radio noise/interference.
    Life is too short to drive ugly cars.

    yea all that capacitor does is help with radio noise. not a big deal to not have it, and honestly, i'm sure you wont even notice it.
