Can anyone show a pic of how exactly the ICM wiring looks? Not in the schematic, cause I'm not having an easy time reading it. But like on the ICMs themselves, there's numbers on both sides. Anyone care to explain how those numbers correlate to each other? Like, 4 pin 1 to 3 pin 3 and so on? My head hurts from tryin to make sense of the schematic and would like just a simple explanation. Thanks in advance

No, no you will not do this to me. I ordered my set 2 weeks ago (still on back order, ugh) so if they go on sale next week I'm going to be so disappointed haha.

Our 2.0T coil adapters are $16 each and can reuse your existing hardware. We have the 2.0T FSI coils in red and black for $24 each, a significant savings over the 3 wire bolt down coils.

The adapters specifically for the 2.0T FSI coils are not currently on the website, but are available. Please PM me for more information, but we will be offering a couple pre-made options for folks who don't want to do this modification themselves.

Yeah sorry, we did a group buy with the product introduction and don't have any plans for a Group Buy on this product in the future.

However, everyone on Audizine is always welcome to inquire with me via email or PM. If there are other items you need, ordering at the same time can allow for some help on the price! =)

I'll be doing this swap with the 07K905715F coilpack and I'll be making the aluminum adapters myself. Can someone tell me how thick those plates are? Based on my mockup I'm guessing about 1/2". Does this sound about right?

my buddy with a 1.8T passat didnt use any adapters because the coil sits snug on the plug, I'd only run one to keep it in place & for aesthetics

as OCD as my friend his I'm sure he'll get some but for now its been running great

I don't doubt they will be fine without the adapter (they fit pretty tight) but just to keep the plug holes clear of debris and keep them "secure" I do want to install the adapters. Besides, look at how they look without...
But since I'm not about to pay $20 a piece for the adapters I'm making them myself (with the help of my retired machinist father). With these latest coils 1/2" or somewhat thicker would do to cover the sealing portion of the coilpack.

I dont see how anyone was able to run 0.040 NGK BKR7Es. I was running platinum plugs beforehand with no issues (other than the fact that they are now too old). I tried the NGKs and had misfires like crazy. I was only able to run smoothly with a them gapped to 0.028 and that was at idle. At WOT the car still would sputter slightly. Anyway, fuck the coppers, time for some platinum's or iridium's.

.025"? That seems pretty standard in the S4 world. I would hope you can run a larger gap with more powerful coils. I had a taurus SHO with a large turbo and at one point I ran a .040 gap and the car ran like a raped ape with fresh plugs but I could only run a big gap like that with copper plugs. double plat plugs I had to run .025~ I had spark blow out issues with anything larger on double plat plugs. My point is on that particular car the larger gap made a huge improvement to the way it drove. I am not sure if that transfers to this platform though.

haha no 1mm was probably correct. unless he has a setup that allows the plug to arc directly onto the piston. it is just weird to hear it in metric.

He started at 0,5mm, and went all the way up to 1mm gap. Idle is much more smoother and "feel" better in acceleration with 1mm compared to 5mm :)

Just for you guys who are making your own harnesses - I would HIGHLY suggest soldering and bridging your pin 2 and pin 4 grounds. The first time around I used butt connectors and use the valve cover for my pin 4 ground and was having ignition activation issues. Went back through and soldered all the connectors and bridged pin 2 and pin 4 grounds and haven't had an issue since.

I am planning to use solder heat shrink butt connectors. These connectors have a ring of solder instead of crimp ring inside. You heat them up, solder melts while the connector shrinks around cables. Bulletproof. But I also got quality heat shrink butt connectors and good ratcheting crimp tool. I will see which type works better.

I've never seen those but they sound cool. Originally I used the butt connectors with the heat shrink on them and it worked for about a year before I started having issues. After just doing a normal solder and heat shrink job it's been working perfectly.

That's what I've been doing to date. solder and heat shrink on individual wires and then larger heat shrink over thewhole section of cable extending over original cable jacket to create continuous shielding that won't bend easily.

You can also use Raychem/Tyco Environmental splices. You crimp the barrel on the wires, then slide the environmental heat shrink over them and, when melted properly, they seal the ends up completely. We use them in our helicopters. They're what I used to do Audi_S4's mod, as well.

You should hook me up with some ! I've already wired my car with the normal crimp style w/heat shrink...but would re do them with these for sure! Or on a new car in the future (we talked about that).
