Helmholtz resonator. Breaks up different noise frequencies. Also mimics the volume occupied by the OEM dual intercooler set up.

Gets rid of excess volume in the boost track that isn't doing anything.

None now that you have a FMIC.

Does SAI change resistance with time on the connector ? Or does it have single resistance when plugged in.

The CEL isn't an issue with remove the SAI pump per-say. You can probably fix that with a resistor. It's the O2 sensor during a cold start that is going to cause the CEL.

Thanks for info old guy. I guess cat-delete software would take care of that anyways ?

The SAI function is monitored by the front wide band sensor so if you only have the rear sensor written out to prevent a cat cel then no you probably are not OK.

Cat delete will take care of the P0420 code. The SAI code is something completely different. Without the SAI pump it takes longer for the cat to get up to temperature. The front O2 sensor monitors the mix entering the cat and can tell if there is extra O2 in relation to the amount of fuel. Sometimes you can avoid the CEL by always driving the car as soon as you cold start it. The longer you sit at idle the more likely you will throw the SAI code.
