    $1 per plug on Platinum+4 or Platinum Plus
    $2 per plug on Iridium

    Up to 16 rebates per person! Good through 12/31.

    Bosch lists the 7406 (FGR7KQE0) as OE for the S4. It's nickel-ytrrium multi-electrode. This plug, however, is not eligible for the rebate.

    Or you can run the 4417 (FGR7DQP) for the S4. This is the Platinum+4 OEM-equivalent and IS eligible for $1 back per plug.

    For those interested, the only difference that I can see (other than the electrode material) is the height of the electrode. According to Bosch's designation code sheet, the OE plug has a 4mm tall electrode and the OE equivalent is 3mm. So far I have not seen any particular reason for this...perhaps Audi and Bosch determined emissions or performance was better with more cylinder protrusion?

    And for those of you who want to pick your own plug, these are the specs a stock S4 needs:

    Thread size = 14mm
    Reach = 19mm (3/4")
    Hex size = 16mm (5/8")
    Seat = gasket
    Resistor = yes (interference suppression)
    Gap = 1.4mm (0.055")
    Heat range = 7

    RS4 folks...

    Unfortunately there is no OE equivalent plug, you have to run the NGK PFR7W-TG. I tried using the Bosch plug finder tool with the below specs and got no results.

    Thread size = 14mm
    Reach = 19mm (3/4")
    Hex size = 16mm (5/8")
    Seat = gasket
    Resistor = yes (interference suppression)
    Gap = 0.8mm (0.031")
    Heat range = 7

    Sorry, but you are out of luck. The OE NGK is definitely very good so just chock this up as "higher cost of ownership". :-)

    Advance Auto carries the Bosch OEM plug for $10.69. Search for it by the 7406 code.

    $85.52 - $35 off = $50.52 - $4 rebate + shipping (about $9) = $56
    (stores don't stock this since it's a custom plug, but buy more stuff and shipping is free)

    Or use the OEM equivalent (generic) for $4.99. Search for 4417.

    $39.92 - $10 off = $29.92 - $8 rebate = $21.92
    (select in-store pickup)

    I called up my nearest Audi dealer and asked him if he had 8 2007 S4 plugs in stock, and I picked them up for 86 dollars including tax for all 8. The are the OE QE0's. I thought that was cheap enough.

    Are you sure that NGK heat range 7 is warranted? The stores seem to list NGK heat range 6, which jives with the fact that it's an efficient NA engine. I don't think I've ever put an NGK heat range 7 into a non-boosted motor. Keep in mind that different plug manufacturers have different heat range scales, so a factory spec of Bosch heat range 7 doesn't mean you should use NGK heat range 7 when using NGK plugs.

    I agree with squiddy, since the OEM Bosch is heat range 7, you want a 6 in NGK or 20 in Denso.

    Colder is not better, unless you're maybe modified heavily.
