LED city lights that actually work for B7 with no added separate resistor

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have B7 S4 with the multicolored DIS (not the all red one) and I was looking for LED city light replacement bulbs for awhile and everyone I found required a separate resistor to be installed for the error code. I just installed the HPX 194 White LED bulb yesterday and they look great. The bulbs are very bright. They simply just pop in and do not throw an error code what so ever. Just figured I would post the link for anyone who was looking. Just make sure you select the CANBUS version which has the built in resistor. The link is below, enjoy.

Ordered these and they work great with no bulb out light. I also ordered this: http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hpxde11pland1.html for the day time running lights to use instead of regular resistors and they work great too but I ended up modifying them.

Sorry for going off track here but this pretty much means that if you get any LED bulb in the car you will need a resistor?? Like replacing the blinker bulb with LED. What size resistors do we need?

Bumping this old thread because I just spent an hour searching LED City Light replacements. So can anyone else confirm that these LED's http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hpx194ledbuw.html are simply plug n' play without screwing around with resistors? Secondly, if they are plug n' play can someone confirm that they didn't melt their damn headlights?

Also, if there are plug n' play (no code) LED license plate lights... please share the link. Not looking to spend $50 for a pair of $5 dollar bulbs.

Give a pair of these ones a try. I use them on my MKV Jetta which is also sensitive to the bulb out warning: http://www.superdiscountleds.com/pro...ight-Bulb.html

If you still get a bulb out warning with those bulbs then just throw a set of these resistors in. No wiring needed like most other resistor kits: http://www.superdiscountleds.com/pro...28pair%29.html

How are these working now that it has been 9 months?
I have been browsing the various LED city light 194 options with built in resistors:
    -autolumination 1 LED 5050 model
    -your tuner dome ones ( http://www.tunerdomes.com/index.php?...Id=172&added=1 )
    -HPX http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hpx194ledbuw.html

I have A4 with stock bi-xenon's that turn, color DIS, and the 2 knobs for DRL etc.
I'd love to get LED DRLs, but I see they require manual added resistors. I'd gladly pay someone in Central ohio to do the DRLs though haha :)
