B8/B8.5 VCDS & Hidden Menu: The Complete List

Either I suck at searching or this doesn't exist: When I unlock the car I want the LED drl's on but NOT the fogs. How can I disable the fogs but keep the LEDs on the leaving home/coming home setting? I still want to be able to manually turn on the fogs when I need them.

This is the setting that is to be used to do the windows and sunroof for the B8 S4 but for some reason does not work. Well it well put the windows up but not down. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions. Thanks

but have an issue wit this. Maybe I am not doing this correctly, but when holding down the lock on my key fob the windows and sunroof will NOT go down. If put down manually the widows will go up if I hold down the lock on my key fob. Do you you or any other member have any ideas. The input was done by a fellow Audi Club member who has the Vag-Com cable and software. Thanks

Hoseman, go into the Car Control module within the MMI. you should now see a new item, called windows. if you go in there, it has something like 'remote operation'. you have to enable that. i don't know the exact wording or if it's different if you have Navigation, but for me, without Nav, it's just a new menu item that appears under windshield wipers.

If you hold the unlock key, the windows will open, and the lock key will close them.

Guys i got this VCDS cable today, and tried the VAG mods, everything works great, all settings and coding seems to work with Rosstech and the cable is cheap :D

its really nice with that mod and use the Led fog lights

This will stop the LED's from dimming when the parking lights are turned on.

Has anyone tried to enable the amber side markers to blink with the turn signal? I don't know if it would actually be a potential VAG-COM adjustable 'feature' or if it would need a separate fuse (guessing these cars use electronics to blink versus fuses....).

Most of you have probably either disabled, covered, removed, or never had amber side markers but I figure if they are there, I might as well try to get some additional use out of them

Many of you have probably already noticed this, but for those of you with new s4's (and possibly new to coding modifications), these codes change a lot - even within a production model and calendar year

If you go through some of the mods you want to do and notice that they are already checked, the label is a little different, or the feature isn't even in the same place - post a note and I'm sure you'll have some folks willing to help.

Also, you may note that some of these features, once enabled, still need to be switched on, or activated to meet your tastes, within the MMI menu...so poke around

Coming from a GTI, I have to say the '13 s4 software seems a bit more reliable and easier to navigate than the '07 Gti; then again, I assume it also shows improvement over the '07 s4.

not sure if it's possible, but why would you want to do that and run the risk of killing your battery? i've known at least 2 people who had that happen to them (in other cars) because they left something plugged into the lighter while they were away from the car for several hours.

I've done this in every car I've ever owned for at least the past 15 years. I'm pretty sure the car battery can handle it.

I can't seem to get the windows to go down with the keyfob with this feature enabled. Anyone have any thoughts? I tried disabling and re-enabling. I tried with the rear window "lock" on and off. Nothing seems to be working! I've had it work in the past so I am stumped on this one. For those of you who DO have this working, what are you doing with the keyfob? Is there anyway to keep the Music playing after you turn the car off, but before you open the door? My B8 A4 with MMI/Nav had this feature, however my B8.5 without MMI does not do this. I find it playing before opening the door quite luxurious and nice to finish songs/discussions depending on what I'm listening to. I thought I saw a thread on this a few days ago, but can't find it now and doing vag com stuff tonight.

Anyone know the coding for this or where to set in menus?

ok, i finally got into the parking brake module with security access. followed the order - security access, enter code (78713 for the 2013s for those still looking for it), close, go to adaptation. i want to change it so that i don't have to depress the brake pedal to release the parking brake, but the channel list is not by numbers per se. it's a drop down. the one that seems right is "manual release", as it has 2 values possible "with button and brake pedal depressed" or just "with button". the first is what's selected currently.


i select the other - "with button", click do it, it prompts me to use the default shop codes, but then it give me an error that the workshop id is not accepted by the controller. followed by another popup saying "request sequence error."


anybody run into this?? what am i doing wrong? do i need a different workshop number, or to do something else first?

edit: summm bitch, i figured it out. went to another control module (did the DRL blink one) and it had 06325 in there for workshop number. so i used that in the parking brake module and it worked. FINALLY. So not sure if that workshop number will work for everyone or if you have to see whats in your car specifically, but apparently, you can't just use 12345.

is Vincent9993 updating the initial post with new info, in particular for the B8.5 differences?

Do you have the car turned on? This is typically because the cable is not active (look for the light on the connector)

yep, am able to do everything else with it. i don't have the ignition on typically, but car is on and light on the cable is green.

I don't think there's a hidden menu if you don't have NAV. What are you trying to do that requires access to the hidden menu?
