Hello guys, this is my first post here, so I hope it not violates any forum rules.

    So, straight on questions.

I've been reading and reading untill I got stuck. Even though I've read this and this threads, I could not answer my questions, so here they are:

    1. Is it possible to swap the "lock/unlock/panic" chip (marked as element 2 on attached picture) with the B7 one? I mean, Is it possible to replace the inside elements of two keys (B6 and B7) (Does anyone knows how to remove the yellow elements (marked as 4)?)
    2. I had broken my immo chip while trying to remove it from the old key. Fortunately I have another one, yet is the last one :) Is it possible to reprogram the immo chip located within the B7 key or it's not rewritable? I've read about these SKC (Security Key Codes) and I think I have it (marked as element 1 on attached picutre) but I couldn't understand am I able to do that, or I need to buy from these "virgin" chips.
    3. Is the element marked as 1 is the SKC?
    4. I've bought two B7 keys from Ebay, yet unfortunatelly they are working at frequency of 315mhz (where the European ones working at 433mhz). That's why I need to replace the inner chip, where are the buttons. If this is not possible, I'll try to buy from european Ebay another couple of keys, but will I be able to rewrite them at all (without needing to replace anything but the blade)? If that is not an option also - what should I do in order to have a backup key.

Thank you so much and sorry if I sound silly :)

    Looking forward,
    Dani

    ill answer 1 of them

you can not do a shell swap or simply "swap buttons" where the press on the circuit board and size of the circuit board are completely different and would not match up and wouldnt work

    I'll answer the rest-**
#2- Maybe. Depends on the generation of the Immobilizer. Part of the B7 series overlaps, part doesn't because the hardware (key fobs) was used for several models but the software was different between most of them. In any case if you have an 03' or later your odds are nearly 100% that you have to take it to the dealer to have the Immo adapted anyway. And they'll tell you whatever they have to in order to make a buck (at least in the U.S)- which means probably selling you a new key/ remote etc and charging for the programming. There are tools some people have to read the SKC from the cluster and/or adapt the Immobilizer, but it became MUCH harder in 2003 as Audi encrypted the SKC in the Eeprom, and very few tools(only 1 that I know of) have the algorithm to find the information. As far as the chip RFID chip itself- you do not need a *new* one, the cluster has no way of knowing if the chip is new or not, you just need one that is the right generation for the cluster. People will tell you this, but if it was true then swapping an instrument cluster would be impossible without all NEW keys.
#3 No, the SKC is not on that tag. #1 in your picture is part of your VIN#. The other numbers on the white tag relate to the physical key generation and key profile for the key blade. The SKC WAS originally attached to the smaller white part you have, the dealer removed it when the car was sold- nice huh!
#4 As far as the remote part, you can have up to 4 programmed at any one time, there's a glitch that allows more if you need it, but I haven't nailed it down yet. But with the proper remote you should be able to wipe the old memory and program the new ones if they're the right ones... if I understood the question.
