Throttle Body Adjustment - Holy Shit, makes a different

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Found this on one of the canadian audi forums....probably a repost...but I tried this...and it improves response.

Did the following steps and the car felt different immediately.

    Put the car in Park.
    Pull the handbrake up.
Put the key and put it into the position just before the starter turns (DO NOT START THE CAR)
Push the gas peddle all the way wait 3 seconds and turn the key all the way back but do not take it out
Release the gas peddle and wait 2 minutes!
Remove key than put it back in and start the car!
You will notice a better response while pressing the gas,
Do this once every few weeks!

I used to do that on my E55. It basically resets the adaptations so it "de-grandmasizes" your throttle response.

If there were two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins more? I bet you'd say Flippy, wouldn't you?

But you would be wrong. It's Hambone.

    Should work for 3.2....

Like The Godfather said (lol)........it resets your adaptations......the ECU learns your driving technique........aka fuzzy logic.......i drive slow most of the times......so its learnt that...and makes the car behave like that.......

After I did this, I got the original response I had when I just purchased this car.

So I just tried this out on my manual. I didn't feel much of a difference but that could also be in my head. Thought there was going to be more of a response. Maybe I just did it wrong and never felt any differnece in the first place. Has anyone else with a manual done this yet?

This just restores the default throttle response. Your car learns your driving habits, so if you beat on your car on a regular basis, this will make little to no difference. If you drive your car a bit more gently, you will see a very temporary improvement in throttle response until the car re-learns your driving habits.

Haha. Maybe your right. I'm not going to deny it, I'm a pretty aggressive driver. Also note that after I did this when I started my car and let it idle. The engine was sputtering... Anyone get this? Didn't hear any clicks like mentioned above.
