    Actual fuel pump in the pump housing assembly..

    Has anyone tried to remove the intank pump from the plastic housing without breaking anything????? If you did how did you do it??????

    lol.......Clint, I figured you would be the first to post here...lol..... I see how it comes out "I think through the top as there are 3 sides that hold it in" But wanted to make sure......

    P.S. Clint, can just the pump be bought seperately???

    The pump is very easy to get to, its under the back seat on the passenger side.... the hardest part is the sliding circular ring that holds the pump in...

    thanks dude! That is totally not what i expected! lol Looks complicated!

    Didnt realize that fwd and awd had diff. pumps. Good to know. Thanks man.

    Need to do some logging when i get my car back and might have to replace this bad boy. Your replacing yours correct? How did the logs go?

    The LPFP got lost in the mail "UPS" so I made one out of 2 AWD pumps I had but the pump in the spare I had is no good so i'm going to try to take the actual pump from the FWD pump assembly which is good and put it in the AWD housing..... Got to find out how to seperate it from the housing though...... I see how, just don't know how to go about it yet....lol

    Well after researching and reading the internet I have come to the conclusion that a noisy FP means a dieing FP....lol

    Well i'm waiting for the other used LPFP to get here so in the mean time I took the pump out of my FWD LPFP that I know is good and swapped it with the bad pump in the AWD LPFP. It was pretty easy to take the pump out of the housing assembly, but outting it back in is a bit more challenging!!!!!!! you will see the 2 pieces of plastic the are attached to the bottom of the pump in the pics, well you have to take them off before you can fully remove the pump from the assembly and then in reverse order when putting it back together...... This way I now have a spare LPFP to.

    I'm a little confused. If I have to replace my LPFP, exactly what part (what pic) do I have to replace?

    You will have to replace the whole unit it the pump goes...

    Taking the sending unit out is very easy there are 2 tabs on the inside that will release the sending unit... I just don't remember exactly what you need to do with the 2 tabs...lol
