Do a lot of people leave their engine covers on, or do they just discard them when they start modding the engine? I was just curious because I was hoping to see some pics of some modded engines w/o the covers and maybe like a powdercoated VC and such... I am torn between whether or not to keep them when I get to that point...

I took mine off after I went to stage 2, as my tuner said all they do is hold heat in. I recently had a new VC gasket installed, and at that time we hot tanked the VC, so it is really clean now and looks great as plain alloy color to me.

I took mine off but I kept them for the winter it helps the engine not fight to stay warm when its cold out and it helps warm the engine up faster on cold days.
In the summer it is better to keep it off just to keep the engine temp down.
The pics are on my profile.
I just saved a bunch on money on my car insurance by running from the police.
