I have been using the 'search' option to try to look for a modified red A4 but cant really find much other than only one car on the forum. Can those of you with a red a4 with some mods post up some of your pictures, stock red ones are appreciated also! thanks!

Not sure how many red B8's Audi produced so far in general. I have seen next to none on the roads out here in the Bay Area. Furthermore, it has not been a popular color with most members on here that I have seen. Red is definitely sexy on the B8 though.....

I'm pretty much happy with the B8 looks and behaviour. However, when I got the car, I had three simple mods in mind to improve the stance of the car and a little bit of her handling. These were:

1. Chip upgrade with Stage 1 APR. This didn't happen because the APR guy could not get the existing APR programs to work on my ECU. According to APR, they had handled only one other car (located in Japan) that had the same ECU code as mine. They said they needed the car for a day so that the guys at APR Amercia could remotely force the ECU to allow them download the factory program before they could modify it. It sounded too much to me and now that the run-in period is over, I'm pretty happy with the engine's power delivery anyway. I doubt I'd go back for a chip upgrade soon.

2. Tall alloy wheels. I found these 19" reps that were locally available at a good price. The whole rim+tyres are noticeably heavier than the OEM ones. :( But they look good. Haven't put the tyres through their pace yet, but so far so good. At 42 psi, they are very quiet and comfortable.

Another less than perfect thing is the offset of the rims which at 8"; E=42, they sink a little inside the fenders. I went for Eibach Pro Spacers, but ended up not using them due to the legal restrictions over here.

3. Suspension. I wasn't happy with the OEM suspension's spring rate. Upgraded to Eibach Pro Kit springs and could not be happier. The riding height is just perfect for my taste and the handling is noticeably improved without a need to tweak other components.

Apart from these (oh, polished exhaust tips and changing OEM H7 headlight bulbs to 4200K ones), my car is pretty much what she was when she was born.

Can you elaborate on the legal restrictions part concerning your wheel spacers?

Oh, OK. I think the light-coloured radiator behind the front bar is the intercooler as there are no other openings in the car for it. But if that's the case, it shouldn't be any different from the US-spec cars. Am I right to make that assumption?

As for spacers, I did my thorough research AFTER I ordered the spacers. Aparently, Australia is among a minority of countries that bans spacers all together (for safety considerations). Although road rules can vary a little from state to state, they all have the same view about spacers. The only ones allowed are genuine parts from manufacturers (eg Porsche). So if somebody install spacers, their car is legally not road-worthy and if they get into an accident that somehow relates to suspension or wheels (after the insurance guys do their investigation), the insurer will refuse to pay any claims. This is why i changed my mind about spacers. I know though, that many people here have spacers on as we speak, but I guess they're taking their chance.

I know there are good spacers and bad spacers. But the local rules look at them equally. Unfortunately, this is something that we cannot even get an engineer to check and certify. So I had to return the spacers and cop the freight chargers :(

The ones I got were 24mm (12 each side) for rear and 10mm (5 each side) for front.

I like the clean nature of your bim! Red tails look great set off against the black accents

The ps def looks like it could be hot, but be careful with colored lips and their finish. If done right with the appropriate stance, they can look gorgeous. But if they take on that in between matte/gloss finish, they look like plastic and destroy the class.
