No, it's the white one on the left.

The second one on the outer side adjusts the beam angle horizontally. I had a play last night with the right-hand side headlight of my wife's '10 2T, and from memory, turning clockwise turned the beam outward.

Somebody mentioned here that only those with adaptive lights get the second light. I didn't know about this and last night when I saw the second white hex screw I thought to myself: sweet! we've got adaptive lights. Then I tested the lights against the garage door and I saw the beams move in the direction of steering. yay!

Thanks guys, especially Jacon. Although my wife's car runs on standard suspension, I was always unhappy with its lights (aiming too low for my liking). 1 turn clockwise was enough. I drove the car afterwards and the lights were spot on. The bonus was learning about the adaptive function.

    Cheers!

Had to put a new drivers side headlamp on the TT225 with xenon. The work was done at the shop in conjunction with the 75k service. It looks like now that both low beam lights are set too low. Adjusted the passenger side up but the driver's side limited out after a few turns of the vert adjustment. It still looks low to me. Any ideas?

I know I've seen instructions on how to also change the height with VAG-COM, but can't remember where. That might help.

I know this is an old post but I've just seen it after the thread been resurrected.....and it doesn't make sense.

Adaptive lights don't function at a stand still (apart from the start up test of course). They only operate between 10 and 110 kmph.

I need to adjust my main beams down a little, looks like I have to loosen the mount screws and adjust the black screw (on the bottom left of NPuter's photo) that points forwards to move the whole assembly? I had to have the outside temperature sensor replaced and I think they messed up the headlamp aim......

anyways our head lights aim low when we lower our cars. not 100% sure why but i'm guessing the rear is higher at stock height and when you lower the whole car the rear is level or even lower sometimes. and i guess the adaptive system thinks the rear is lower which means the lights will be angled up so it in turn lowers the beam.

well tonight i vagcom'd it and got my headlights to aim higher! OMG what a difference. after the lowering of the car, the light beam would point too low to the point where i felt unsafe driving in pitch dark on the highway. now it's just right. maybe even a tad bit high.

anyways here's the vagcom (vcds 11.11) part by memory (might be a little different):

    1. go to "55 - xenon range"
    2. then go to "recode -07"
    3. change workshop code to a 5 digit number (stock is some weird numbers or 00060. 00020 is what i have now which i think is perfect. the lower the number the higher it aims)
    4. anyways at some point it showed warning autoleveling malfunction or something. usually after you change the workshop code. don't worry.
    5. go to "basic settings - 04" and use the drop down menu at the bottom and go to adjustment of autoleveling or somewhere along the lines of that. it'll show wait and what not for awhile. anyways i just waited a min or 2 and clicked on the button at the top that said on/off/next until the fields show regular position and learned or something like that. after that i just closed everything and there was no auto leveling error.

Are you sure that the workshop code is doing any thing ?? - normally it is only used to document the workshops unique id in the unit, so that Audi later can see the coding history, if e.g. a warranty claim should be required.

yeah i had a few other audi guys with me and they noticed the beam going higher. also everytime i changed the numbers, the headlights would re-adjust itself to the new position. i found the workshop coding part in another forum, but the guy didn't know how to get rid of the autoleveling error.

also before vagcoming my beam would dip down about i would say 20-30 degrees from horizontal. now the beam is parallel to the ground. if any warranty claim is required, i'll probably change the workshop code back to the original.

It's then already to late, because the history is stored in the unit - not just the last save :)

Just lowered my car and wondering whether I need to adjust the lights. The lights automatically adjust on my car and I'm wondering whether my headlights are still at an okay height. At about 25-30ft from a wall on a level surface, with a little less than 1/2 tank of gas, my lights point straight across about 2 feet above from the ground. I'm lowered at about 26 inches and am wondering whether there is need for any adjustments. For those of you who adjusted your lights, at what height did you guys adjust your lights to?

Here's a picture of the wall I was using for reference. Again, I'm about 25-30ft from the 10 foot wall on a level surface.
