One of my vvme ballasts for my fogs died....sooooo......

I decided to order up another kit since i've always been a lighting snob. But instead of the h11 3000k kit, i ordered a H3 3000k kit and decided to order up some Hella Micro DE projectors too. Figured i'd just replace everything since my lenses were all pitted and cloudy anyways. Plus, I've always loved the light output of Hella DE projectors like the ones I had on my MkIII Jetta back in the day.

Cut off the factory lens, took out the reflector and mounted the Micro DE in the factory housing. Little bit of trial and error, but worked perfect. Only issue is one of the fogs isn't completely parallel to the ground right now, but that'll be an easy fix. On to the pics:

fogs only - you can see the one is at a bit of an angle. just need to slot the mounting point and rotate a little bit.

skid i have no idea how many times i'm going to have to say this -- but your car looks AMAZING (which wheels are you on btw?) but the eyelids bother me to no end!

    lol

other than that, i'll have to take josh's stance on this one

just wondering, did you have to take off the front bumper to change the fogs?

Looks good bro, but I'm not a huge fan of 3000K fogs. I know they work better then any other color on the road in fog, but I like matching lighting coming out of the same car. BTW I still like the eyelids no matter the hatters.

They don't. There is a big difference between selective yellow halogen and yellow HIDs. The latter is useless in bad weather, it's way too intense and make things worse actually.

The bulbs are hard to find, but there is another preferable method, it involves spraying the fog lenses with this transparent yellow/gold paint: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metalcast.html (and using regular halogen bulbs). You can find all the info at the bottom of this article: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...ght_color.html And more info about fog lights: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...fog_lamps.html

    That's some pimp $hit Mark!

Can you email me info on the Hella projectors as they look small enough to clear my IC piping if I made a custom mount.

You won't be disappointed by those projectors. I did the same mod, but mounted mine behind the factory glass lens.
