I ordered my 72mm front crank seal from JHM and got this little plastic job, it looks innocent but I found it extremely useful, see here. First oil it up and a little oil on the block & crank for friction free install. Then slide the seal all the way to the back of the plastic cup, place cup over crank and very carefully and slowly slide it into the block. I used a cut 3" pvc pipe to act as a press. It slides in most of the way by hand. then you just slide the cup off once the seal is in place. I also learned that the bottom of the seal will press in farther than the top if you over press by using something other than the factory press tool.
