    Feeler about my C5RS6

I have read the rules, but before I post pictures and details, I would apprecaite friendly feedback. We cannot get ABS unit to register (I am on my 5th one including rebuilds) and before I dump a lot more money in, I wanted to see if anyone was looking for an RS6 since I cannot register it with dash lit up like a christmas tree. Car drives and stops like a beast it is, just does not have working ABS. I know it is worth more in parts than whole, but if someone is looking for a fully drivable RS6, I am sure we can make a deal. I would not be selling it if I could register it - after 15 years and 100,000mi out of total 220k, it is a part of the family. VIN: WUAPV54B73N904530. Transmission was replaced about 6 years ago. DRS had been long gone. Billet turbos, tunes, etc. It does show its age and miles, it is not a showroom car. I was driving it, not looking at it, and was not planning on selling it any time soon. Please help me figure out the best pathway. Thank you.

    RS6 C5 owner here.

I have been following your ABS unit saga on-and-off in your various posts and I just can't fathom how this issue can't be resolved. Let me rephrase it: I fully believe you are a smart guy who has tried all different options to get it working: however there is something that we are missing here. The solution to get the ABS working exists: you/we just haven't found it yet.

Are you absolutely sure you are willing to throw in the towel? Obviously the fix isn't a new or refurbished ABS unit: you've already tried that over and over again! So it could be coding (well... you seem to have tried that repeatedly as well) or perhaps an ECU issue. I don't claim to drop into this saga with a ready-made solution, but have you investigated whether the ECU may be at fault? I recently had a reoccurring O2 sensor fault on a different Audi I own that couldn't be cleared. Sure enough, a specialist shop diagnosed a faulty ECU: I replaced it with a working one, had it cloned and the error disappeared. Also, have you contacted other Audi *real* specialists to gain the benefit of their advice? Lastly, did you try posting on RS246.com? Plenty of knowledge on that board.

You obviously care about your RS6 and I truly believe the solution is out there: it just needs to be found.

asgor, really appreciate your comments. We tried everything, multiple times, including running sensor wires to bypass ABS wiring harness, no changes. ECU is fine, checked, double checked and triple checked. My mechanic is a *real* Audi/VW/Porsche certified specialist who was a master mechanic at an Audi dealership before striking out on his own. That is all he works on, and I trust him explicitly - he did not even charge me last time car spend 2 weeks in his garage while he was trying to troubleshoot. Next step is to replace ABS wiring, all of it, and that is not trivial because most runs through the frame. That's a lot of hours and I simply cannot handle it anymore - both financially, and more importantly, emotionally. Hence, I need to cut the cord. $15,000 will take it, lock, stock and all spare parts I accumulated over the years. Please dm if interested.
