    Door Plug?

I hate asking dumb questions, but I'm having trouble finding this part. Driver's side door closes a bit hard and I noticed this stopper bumper plug thing is missing. Anyone know what it's called?

Just ran out to my car to check, there is no plug that goes where that bolt is. I checked all my doors. The door relies on the rubber stripping surrounding the interior of the door for a "softer" close. Is your rubber not soft anymore? Could be the problem. Easy as replacing with generic weatherstripping and some glue at an auto store if that's the case.

Sounds like a worthwhile project since my weatherstripping has never been replaced. You are more than likely right about that being the cause. I had since pulled the screw from another door to get a better look at one. It looks like the driver side door screw broke off, and the base has moved a bit. I put a couple rubber stops over the hole to no benefit to the rough closing. Thanks for the reply!

Any time, happy to help! I have yet to see this issue with this car but had a friend with a Scion a couple years back with a similar problem so that's where my mind went. Rubber weatherstripping was basically hard as a rock and the door was having a hard time closing/sealing shut. Very little humidity does not help here.
