Hey guys! I own an A5 B8 1.8 TFSI with 150k miles on it.
A couple of weeks ago my check engine light started blinking and my car was running weird with now very rough idling (the last two years I’ve felt a little bit while in neutral) and overall the car is not running great in low RPMS.
I put on the VCDS and I have misfires on all cylinders and error code P001600 that relates to the Camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensors.
I tried to pull out the crankshaft sensor while the car was running and it died immediately. When I tried the same with the camshaft sensor it made no difference when just running in neutral.
Could this mean I could be so lucky the sensor is problem?
If not I’ve read just about everywhere that’s it’s probably the chain or the tensioner.
I tried to read live data from the engine and came across a reading saying “Input camshaft Adjustment” and it was totally flatline steady at 37.988 degrees. Does this refer to the chain being out of link or a sensor that’s not working properly? I would think this number would be dynamic but I’m no expert.
If anyone has input or an answer to these, please let me know!
Thank you Audi nation 🤝🏾🤝🏾
