    Second Electrical system malfunction

2021 Audi A6 3.0t here. Had the recall done a couple months back when the car gave me that dreaded electrical system malfunction and then finally died and stranded me. Got in the car today and got the Electrical system malfunction warnings again paired with the car overheating pretty badly paired with warnings for that as well. Luckily I was near the dealership due to a dr’s appointment so I didn’t have to have it towed from home again which is an hour away. I’ll keep everyone posted on what the verdict is as they actually pulled it in on the spot.

According to the service department my water pump is actively leaking and on its way out. Digging out my extended warranty info today to get everything taken care of. I asked why I’m getting the electrical system malfunction again after I just had that recall work done and I was told it has to do with the water pump and the car overheating and is all connected somehow.

Yep, both same problems with my '19 A6 before 60k miles. Now i have a second leak elsewhere at 80k. Not to ruffle the feathers, but by far the worst car i've ever owned from a reliabilty standpoint. Never had a car give me these types of issues under 100k mi.

Besides the water pump / cooling system leak, has it been reliable?

My 19 A6 only has 7k miles so far, but I’m planning to keep as my daily thru summer of 2029 (warranty - service contract term).

Not yet. Still waiting to hear from the service manager at my Audi stealership. I submitted my extended warranty info now I’m just waiting for them to tell me when to bring the car in. For me the car has been mostly reliable. But I’ve only owned and driven it for the last 10 months/10k miles (bought it with roughly 37,000 on it). In the 10 months I’ve had it I’ve had to replace all 4 tires, have the starter system recall work done, oil pressure sensor and now the water pump. Sometime in the last few months the driver side striker plate also became loose and now the door doesn’t shut flush so I have to take care of that too but that’s not a big deal imo. Car is definitely due for a brake job too (rotors and pads) but I knew I was going to need to do that at some point when I purchased it.
