Hey guys and gals,
Question: Has anyone done sound dampening in the front doors of a C8 A7, RS7, RS6? Beneficial or waste of time and money?
I've got a 2021 RS7. It's making a bit of a clunk in the front driver's door. I suspect the speaker to be loose or something similar. I'm not the original buyer, and the car has tinted windows, so I am sure that panel has been pulled previously. I figured I'd pull the door card, look for anything lose, etc.. But, with that said, its not that much more time to add something like SoundSkins to the "speaker boxes" and along the metal portion of the door to "deaden" other sounds and minimize additional, potential vibration of plastics, etc.. I had done the same on my older A6 and it surprised me how much less road noise i could hear and how much better the front end of the stereo sounded with that change. Now, that said, I had also done extensive deadening in the rear of the car and did a custom sub with more power in the rear "speaker deck".
ANYWAY, THOUGHTS??
