Has anyone DIY their brake pads yet? Back in December I was told I have 6mm left on my pads and they will need service soon. I bought F&R EBC Yellows, Now I need to know if I need anything special to do the work? Will I need a spline socket, some say yes, some say no. Has anyone actually don't this work to tell me one way or the other?

I haven't done it on this car yet but you will need a spline socket.

I just took off the entire caliper as I didn't have the spline socket, and id recommend OBD11 to be able to retract the parking brake on the rear. You'll only need one sensor for the rears, front does have two sensors. bungee cord to hold the caliper so it doesn't dangle from the brake line. I also did rotors all around as I didn't want to pad slap them.

There's a few sizes for the spline socket when you search for our car... Did you buy a set or do you have a specific size for that?

I have OBD11 so that helps... Will I need to buy new sensors, or can I reuse the originals? When you use the Spline socket, does that just make for easier access to the pads, or is it better to just remove the whole caliper?
