Which brake pads do y'all use and which are known for low brake dust?

The brake dust on my front wheels accumulates at an insane rate. I don't know the brand of the pads on it right now, I haven't bothered to explore that yet, only bought the car last year.

Just wanted to hear what others have used and would recommend. Thanks.

I ran a set of mesh style wheels on my B8 S4 and the factory pads made a ton of dust which was such a pain to keep the wheels clean and to clean. I switched to HPS 5.0 Performance Brake Pads and they were such an improvement in dust production. I will say, initial bite of the pedal was not as sharp, but there was no perceivable change in performance and I quickly got used to applying slightly more pressure during initial brake engagement. I never experienced any brake fade, squealing, or shuttering, albeit I only did minor spirited driving on country roads to my home. I had them for 5 happy years before I sold the car.

i've been using Akebono Euro Ceramic pads on all my Audis (C5 and Q5) for several years, and still impressed with the low dust and no brake noise.

I have used akebono on many cars: Very low dust like most ceramics but man do these ceramics eat the rotors.
Semi metallic: Doesn't matter which you use, you'll get dust, some more than others, but will get better overall performance for daily driving but also higher chance of that wet squealing noise. Some will say that semi metallics offer better stopping power than ceramic but my experience with the akebonos is that they will not complain about high speed hard stops where semi metallics will.
Organic: Only for cooking. Do not use on cars

second vote for the akebonos.. they don't grab as well as the metals that i had originally though. the other ones dug into the rotors but made a mess of things.

I am running bosch quietcast now and they are decent, definitely don’t bite as hard as semi-metallic’s when cold. But little to no dust and cleaning 17” bbs rc326 wheels is a chore. Ake-euros seem to come up a lot. Eventually I am converting to rotorlab 17z brakes in the front and b5 s4 rears to get a bit more surface area on the rotors.

I did just throw some powerstop z17 ceramics and rotors on my gs300 and the initial impression is positive, very good bite for a ceramic.

I just bought these yesterday and plan on installing them on my S6 in the near future. I run Akebono all around on my B8.5 S4 and they've been great as a daily pad with minimal brake dust.

I've used Chemical Guys Diablo wheel cleaner and it's been great. Chemical Guys doesn't state that it's a protectant, but it greatly reduced brake dust accumulation for me with Hella/Pagid budget pads installed by previous owner. The 8 pot Brembo's are dust machines.... I wash my wheels about once a month with it and in between I'm able to rinse dust off pretty easily with a quick spray.
