Hi all,
I've received an error code with the swirl flaps on the intake manifold.
I've taken the inlet manifold off and given it a good clean, including the carbon deposits behind the valves whilst I'm there. The vacuum control valve seems to be working fine (it holds a vacuum when I suck the pipe). To get the assembly as clean as possible does anyone know how I remove the rod that operates the flaps - as I was going to clean that too.
Whilst it's removed is there anything I ought to replace, like any worn bushes?
I've removed the flaps by unbolting them to clean them and it occurred to me - why dont I just remove them permanently leaving the rod and vacuum control valve in situ to sort the error code issue? Or is it not that simple?
I've researched delete kits however they dont seem to be suited to this type of assembly.
