I have two different subwoofers and I just don't need both. I'm actually selling the better one because I never got around to upgrading the rest of the system in my RS5 as I originally planned to do.
If you've read the title and are wondering, yes... This is actually the 8" woofer. I painstakingly built an adapter from MDF using a router to create a multi-layer, bonded by Gorilla Glue, flush-mounted ring that I then clear-coated and wrapped with matte-black automotive film. It's pretty nice work, if I do say so myself.
The reason for going with the 8" Hertz as opposed to the 10" is that the 15L Basser box is just about the perfect volume for clean, audiophile quality bass. A .707 QTC would be 16L, according to the Speaker Box Enclosure Designer/Calculator on DIY Audio & Video. I've also lightly stuffed the enclosure using Poly Fill and recycled denim padding which should make up for 1L and any driver offset. The calculator has the F3 at 50Hz and adding cabin gain, you'll get all of the ultra low-end you could hope for. Additionally, the Hertz Legend woofer will handle 700W continuous with 1400W peaks so there's room for EQ if needed.
This setup is capable of truly top-quality bass. I did use it for a bit. My system consists of the OEM B&O system, OE sub removed, AudioControl LC2i Pro LOC and Audison SR 1.500 amplifier. It sounded good. But the way the OE system is set up through DSP was a limiting factor. I'm currently running the JL woofer many other's use in another Basser Box and it's fine for what I need and as I say, I likely won't upgrade the rest of the system to where I'd realize the full potential of this sub.
I'm not going to HAGGLE so if you're intention is to low-ball, please don't. Reasonable offers will be considered.
The Hertz Legend woofer + grille sell for close to $850 by themselves. The Basser box was around $250 and that's if you can find one.
