ECS B8.5 Fuel Line Relocation Kit fit Q5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone know if the kit to relocated the fuel line to under the intake will work on the Q5? ECS’s website doesn’t list the Q/SQ just S4/S5. Wasn’t sure if there was that big a difference and it wouldn’t work?

It's the same engine, except for the exhaust manifolds.

I know the engines are the same, but do they have different connectors for that fuel line? I’ve reached out to ECS to verify. Would be nice to have that option on the Q/SQ

I don't know for sure, but I don't think it will fit the SQ5. The hard fuel line is angled differently. On the SQ5, the hard line points straight up, while on the S4/S5, it's bent and points towards the engine. You can order good quality fuel line online and cut it to measure. I ordered 5ft of Evil Energy 300psi fuel line and did my own lines for the ethanol sensor on the SQ5. Had enough fuel line left over to redo the S5's lines. The fuel line clamps I bought from my local auto parts store. But I'm sure those can also be ordered online.

But to answer that question, the connectors are the same. Your main concern is gonna be fuel line length.

Awesome probably going to make my own then. I already have the clamps from a previous project. Eyeballing it looks like ours is the 6AN size from Evil Energy?

If you're just looking for a cleaner look (rerouting the fuel line under the intake), you can reuse the oem plastic connector that sits on the engine or just run a whole line from the hard line to the hpfp. Getting the oem clamp off of the oem plastic connector is a pain, but it's doable. You shouldn't need to buy connectors unless you're looking to install an ethanol sensor or something. The SQ5 uses 5/16" fuel lines.
Ooorr you can go all out and do AN fittings. That would look pretty cool. I don't have experience making lines for AN fittings though, so can't help ya there.

This is the fuel line I ordered from them:
    https://www.ievilenergy.com/products...41455413395592

Any 5/16" fuel line should fit, but the stuff auto parts stores sell is normally very flimsy and only rated for 100 psi.

Gave it a go with AN fittings. Came out pretty good, though for the cost/effort I’d do just the fuel line. Either normal or braided.

AN fittings always look so good!

Is that... braided line clamped over oem line, clamped to a barb/male AN fitting --> female hose end --> female hose end --> male AN/barb fitting --> braided line --> clamped over oem line?
