    Remote Start Options

After searching some threads, I don't see any real recommendations nor feedback concerning any aftermarket remote start options for my 2022 RS6. Can anyone chime in with what they may have, where they acquired it and feedback? Thanks.

I'm not sure about a 22 RS6 but my wife had a Carlink 7 remote start added to her 23 S8. It does take one of your keys out of service so she ordered an extra and had it programmed. She had it done at the Audi dealership.

    Cheers

12volt solutions is a good option.

I’ve successfully used the drone mobile on multiple Audis, including our RS7, without any issues. I’m planning to install it in the RSQ8 next week.

Looks like I have homework to do. Thank you all for your response and options.

Assuming that you utilize this option, what have you found to be the Pro/Cons to this? Any thoughts on I wish it could do this or pair with this, etc? Do you have the mobile app or just the key fob? if key fob, is it your normal or did you go the long range route?

Just to clarify, Carlink requires a secondary programming or was something your local dealership offered? Any one thing you dislike about it?

With these cars being mobile computers I wanted an Audi dealer to install it since it's still under warranty. There are different options that the dealer offers depending on what range you want. Basic being just the range of the key fob versus anywhere there is cell service using the mobile app. I went with the mobile app and bought an extra key that they programmed. It does sacrifice a key so I wanted a spare at home. It's pretty seamless and is nice in the Minnesota weather. You have to adjust the temp before you leave the car though. It locks/unlocks and starts/stops the car. It will also open the trunk as well.
    Pretty happy with it.

    Cheers

I definitely am looking for an option with those same options/conveniences whether it be very hot/cold weather, along with the unlock/lock functions. I went down a major rabbit hole visiting 3 different car audio shops, inquiring about them which led to front and rear dash cams as well. I was informed that apparently in Texas it's against the law to have a key fob in the vehicle, etc. So I am not sure if the dealer will even provide this service. Either way, more investigative work tomorrow. Thanks again for taking the time to reply and provide your feedback.

I installed a system from 12Volt for $500ish a few months ago. install was not as easy as shown because they use an S6 but i did do it myself. two small things about 12Volt. it is from Oklahoma and not china, and the customer support guy is great.
one drawback is you have to use on of your keys installed in the unit, with the battery removed. i had a warranty for lost keys so i ordered a new one for free. if you do that you have to make sure they know you have that third key.
it works well but the key FOB is sometimes tricky to press the lock button 3 times in a row. sometimes the 3rd press does not work and you start over. I am fairly certain they offer another part to link with your phone, or possibly another remote and it works much farther than your key FOB.

with all that said, i have just traded my car in for a 2025 which now comes with remote start via my phone. i am trading in my car in a day or two and did not feel like removing the start system. i can do so and sell it to you at 50% of the price and give you some install tips...which i will remember as i take it out. i am happy to give you any install tips if you buy it from the website...but i may not remember them all.

i have no idea of I am breaking any forum rules by selling the equipment! and i don't quite know how you can send me a message directly. i guess if i have time, i will just remove the unit and take some pictures and notes and possibly put it up for sale anyway. i will keep a watch for an email or this thread if you are interested.

I should have added another downside. the unit gets installed under the trunk cover near the rear seat. it does not fit so perfectly so it sticks up slightly and i have a bulge in the floor. It did not quite bother me but i would not want to load in a heavy object on top of it. I think over time, the wires, which now touch the cover, will get damaged if you constantly put heavy things on top of it. I think you could improve it if you spent some time reworking the wire harnesses. there's a bundle of wires running through there and are taped here and there. if you cut the tape, you may be able to work it better...unsure if it would make it all flat
