    Touchscreen for 2011 S5 Convertible

Tired of having to rely on my phone's small screen for Google maps while driving.

I use that key screen real estate solely for music/radio and settings..tried using the navigator but it's clunky not to mention that I believe it's not touchscreen..as I'm sure you all know.

I've become aware of aftermarket touchscreens for this model that sync with Android Drive, which I believe would mimic my phone but on a 10.2" or larger? screen.

Anyone care to recommend a unit that gets the job done?

    Thanks again,
    Jonathan

I second it, i bought an rs nav mid to late last year and its been very good, installation took me some time because i wasnt actively working on it but it works like a dream and is one of the better quality displays. Do you have built in AUX because if you dont you might need to get a VCDS programmer to enable the hidden green screen to get audio through the speakers.

also another tip with the installation, if you can, avoid running the cables close the the canbus unit. you might get some audio interference if you do and it can be rather annoying. if you need any help just post on this thread and ill try to help as much as i can. I could only find 1 tutorial for my car which was a 2011 a5 but its practically the same for both a5 and s5.

what is your infotainment system type? is it MMI, audi symphony?

All US MY11 S5 will have AMI in the glove box. He'll need the AMI-AUX cable if Concert radio unit (the only CAN radio unit a US MY11 S5 would have). But as I understand it, if MMI 3G High (the only MMI a US MY11 S5 would have), RSNAV no longer utilizes the AUX plug connection.

Oh i was meaning if you dont want to use the AMI AUX or if you AMI just doesn't work. I found my AMI didnt work so i had to do some modifications in the audi hidden green menu to "enable" the aux even though my car wasn't fitted, my rsnav now works fine. To be fair I have a 10.25" S5 model of the rsnav and I have a 3g MMi in my car but it works.

Video on how to do it:

as said before though it depends on the type of Radio you have. it's different for all and may not work.
