Brembo 19Z front calipers (NOT "18Z" or "17Z") for a powerful B8-platform BBK

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Gents I managed to find another set of extremely-rare Brembo 19Z calipers 2 weeks ago, they just showed up from Germany day before yesterday.
All 3 sets I have located and brought here have sold in a week or less.

    Why?

Because the interior arc (as it is correctly called) on these is capable of supporting up to a massive 390mm rotor. This system you'll pretty much put your face through the steering wheel if you're not careful. It is why these are in such crazy-high demand, and so rare.

The first set I used as the basis for a massive 390mm front system on my B6.5 RS4 Avant. The 2nd set I was going to use on my wife's Q5 TDI, but she got all mad that I was messing with her car, wanted to leave it bone stock, so I sold that set. Was gone in less than a week. The 3rd set I got in, I was going to use for my son's car, but he decided AFTER I got them in that he wanted to jump to a different car.....so that set sat around for 2 weeks until I put them up for sale...sold right away. Now this set is here, had a project I was going to build, but I have a 2000 S3 on it's way from Germany, will have to wait until later. So I figured Id just sell them.

ECS Tuning used to have a 19z kit with 380mm rotors. That kit is no longer available----most likely because it was like $5100-----and what do you think was the vast majority of the cost of that kit? The calipers, of course. If you think I'm making this up, go to Google, and type in "ECS Tuning Audi B8 S4 Stage 4 Porsche Front Big Brake Kit", and you will see that this is the truth. You will see an entry there, and it says "no longer available') The rotors for that kit can still be bought though, yes.
Today ECS is still selling a 19Z kit, but with 365mm front 2-piece rotors. Nice kit, but is still over $4800. Go see it for yourself. Not making that up.

JHM used to sell a full 19Z kit for the B8 as well, with their 382mm rotors. Go to Google and look up the phrase:

    "JHM Front BBK (Big Brake Kit) JHM 382mm Porsche 19Z (Brembo 6-piston) for B8 A4-A5-S4-S5-Q5 - VAR-JHM-BBK-1025x382x34-B8"

......it is on the old XLR8 website, but it is there. It was over $5700 dollars. Not kidding---go see it for yourself.

JHM does still make rotors for the 19Z calipers on a B8, and are 382mm. They are $1499. (I would add the link here but AZ frowns on that, I think)

ECS still sells their 380mm 2-piece rotors (for the 19Z calipers on a B8) separately for $1227, I just looked them up.

You can also look up these calipers separately if you wish----they run anywhere from $1350/each----each---- on occasional sale, to as much as $1800 each at the Porsche dealer. Think that's BS? Here's your part number: 95535142161. Again----please look it up for yourself.

I am offering this pair, custom powdercoated and completely rebuilt, for $1500 for the pair----plus whatever the shipping comes out to. And I only charge you whatever it costs me to ship them. This is ridiculously cheap, compared to the alternative.

Pair these with the set of 380 or 382mm front 2-piece rotors from JHM or ECS, and you have a massive, powerful, bolt-on 380mm+ system for your B8, at "roughly" $2000 dollars less than by any other means. These 19Zs at $1500 (plus shipping), and the set of 380s for about 1300 = $2800. Compare that to the ECS 19Z full kit that was nearly $5000. This is not even a contest.

First $1500 (plus shipping) gets them.

I have attached a pic of what they look like right now, sitting on the shop floor and getting ready to head to the powdercoating shop and prepped for powdercoating......and I also attached a couple of pics of the last 2 sets I sold. I did find one more set in the UK, but it will not be here for about another 2 weeks. Has to clear customs.

If you're interested, send me an email and we can discuss this. Email is: [email protected]

With all due respect, I am not accepting any "offers"----this is already one helluva' deal...which is why both previous sets sold so quickly. Last set went to a guy with a 2014 S5.

    Thanks.

These are the same calipers that were optional with Ceramic brakes on the B8.5 RS5 and R8's with Ceramic brake option through at least 2010, also the stock caliper on the early 955 Cayenne Turbo S. Ask me how I know, I've just recently upgraded my RS5 to the Ceramics and I also own a '06 Turbo S, same caliper, same pad size (slighlty different compound with the Ceramics). Nice calipers.

Yessir----and if you do some checking (as I have for years) only about 1 in every 26 Cayenne Turbo's and Turbo S models came with the actual 19Z's.....a majority of which are still on the road because they hold their value fairly well......and the vast majority of them came with either the standard 18Z's (which is amazing to me) or more commonly what was called the "7p5" option calipers, which are an unusual 2-piece caliper with a flat-profiled iron carrier.....and those calipers are absolutely MASSIVE....a colossus.....they are also heavy as a boat anchor, and where they sit, a person would have to run probably a 20 or even 25mm spacer just to clear them near the hub. Powerful but very few wheels will clear them, and they're a freaking boat anchor.

There actually are about 2 or 3 other cars that came with the 19Zs as well, one of them was a mid-series Huracan...and both of them do not come with the carrier----the caliper attached to 2 aluminum bosses that are physically part of the knuckle itself. And the steel carrier cannot be purchased separately----I tried----it has a part number, yes....but the carrier is not sold separately, even from the dealer. Never has been. Same circumstance as with the RS5 8-pot calipers-----several other cars that came with them (such as the 1st-gen R8 4.2), but without the carrier-----and the carrier that DOES work and puts the caliper in the right location (such as on the B7 RS4 or C5 RS6), THAT carrier also flat-out cannot be purchased separately, period. A couple of companies used to make cloned copies of them (Apikol, for one) but they have stopped making them. Already tried that.

The actual 19Zs themselves are not easily found.

Yea, Porsche wants over $1000 for each of the 2-piece Cayenne Turbos S rotors (380mm but wrong offset for Audi). If someone purchases your Calipers, they can go with the Audi Ceramic rotors if they want to upgrade, the newer Audi Rotors stand up better to track conditions than the earlier Ceramic/Carbon rotors. There are also cheaper quality Carbon and Steel rotors to go with, Redmist racing for the Carbons and Girodisc for the Steel rotors.

LOL, my stock brakes will do the same thing.

You're welcome for the free bump, but you do come across like a greasy used car salesman.

    Factory B8 S5 brakes are a single-piston 345mm system.....standard B8 RS5 brakes are the small 8-pots with 365mm rotors. Better than the standard S5, yes.

But neither of those has the stopping power of a 19Z with 382mm rotors. The 382mm rotors also have a much wider pad contact surface area than the 365's...it is not just about the outer diameter. Just plain "more physical area to grab onto" to begin with, and with the advantage of greater centrifugal clamping capability because the "more area to grab onto" is itself further away from the rotational center of the hub. The RS5 pads are only about a 60 or 65mm swept area. The 19Z's are 80mm of cross-swept area. Not close...making the 382's (or the ECS 380's) a far more effective heatsink.....meaning less brake fade.

Now, how much of that stopping power the "average driver" is going to truly use every day, that varies from person to person, of course. But there is no dispute that this is a more capable system. Substantially. It's not for everybody though, and I get that. And everybody's budget is different. What I am offering here is the opportunity to get into a significantly more powerful braking system than stock, at far below what it would cost going the retail route for the same system. Anyone can see the value in that---regardless of whether they themselves can actually afford it or not.

For those than can afford this, it is an excellent value.

    19zs sold.jpg

    SOLD

As I mentioned, gentlemen----these 19Zs do not last...I listed these on ebay like 2 days ago, they sold in less than 48 hours. Screenshot attached as proof...look at the date/time of my laptop down in the lower right hand corner.

I have another set coming from Germany that will be here (according to the tracking number) by tomorrow night. I am considering building another 955/19Z 390mm system for a new car I have coming , but if someone really wants a set, send me an email (listed above) and I may consider selling them. It would be the same price as above.

    Thanks

Yes....these will physically bolt onto any B8-platform knuckle.....A4, S4, A5, S5, RS5, Q5, SQ5....etc Actually the first set I sold about 2 years ago went to a B8 S4 owner. I cannot vouch that the A4 or A5 master cylinder can handle this size of a caliper though. It could be just fine, I don't know.

2nd set from Germany showed up late last week, now sitting on the shop floor. I am considering building another 390mm system for another car I am buying this year, but I haven't decided. If someone is seriously interested, I am willing to consider selling them. That person would need to contact me at the email address listed higher up in this thread.......I just rarely ever check messages here. Last set was on ebay for less than 48 hours before it sold, at full price. See the pic above.

OK gents, 2 guys have now contacted me asking if I would sell the other set that just got here from Germany about 2 weeks ago....my next car that these were for turned out to be a dud (bad trans....no wonder the price was so low....I should have known better), so I have decided to sell the other set, now that they're here.

If interested in the other set, please send an email to the address above....I just rarely ever check messages here.

    Same price as listed above.
