I’ve just had an 01E conversion done, I used a kit from Audis4parts.com. Took 3 different driveshafts to get the right length, I think the correct length was 64.25. Other than that the kit had everything I needed aside from wiring instructions.

seems like a nice kit but i’m budget as they come and i feel like i could for sure source my parts for almost half the price. willing to go through trial and error and more labor than just pay up. college is expensive :/
Mainly i was asking what transmissions do and do not fit. as long as it says 01e or 0A3 it’ll mate the motor?

I would use the kit contents list as a guide, if you choose to go 01E. I’m not certain which bolt up/which do not.

Can I ask possible dumb question-- I've done swaps on other VAG cars / Audis- why do I see many people saying you need a 'tune' for a manual swap? Some people even sell the ECU with the swap.

Whats going on here....Can you NOT code the ECU / ABS to manual?

Oh yeah, there it is...same as every swa before it.
I still don't know why I aways see people talking about sending the ECU in for a 'tune' during swap or what that's all about.
