I bought this S8 in 2017 with 37,500 miles on the odometer. Today the odometer shows 114,000 miles and those 100,000 miles have been sublime. When I bought this car, I was surprised to find out that it already had APR Stage 2 (which adds the down pipes and a different tune). Here are the results of the APR upgrades:
93 Octane: 688 HP & 727 torque an increase of +173 HP & +204 torque compared to stock
100 Octane: 710 HP & 751 torque an increase of +199 HP & +228 torque compared to stock
By the way, APR still supports Stage 2 and will reflash a car if ever needed (if for example, the dealer wipes out your programming which never happened to me). You can call APR to verify.
This car is the best Audi I have every owned. It is incredibly fast and yet very quiet and smooth. The original MSRP was $131K. The modifications that have been made (total value of mods when new were approx. $5K for APR and $4.5K for the Vossen Wheels and tires) and are as follows:
APR Stage 2
Vossen VFS1 21x10.5 wheels all around
285/35ZR21 Continental tires with 7/32 tread (absolutely no rubbing, loaded or unloaded straight thru full lock in either direction)
Recoded the following using VCDS:
o All windows and sunroof open from the remote
o All windows and sunroof close from the remote
o Close trunk via remote and from inside door switch
o I turned off the MMI warning about the vehicle being in motion
o Turned off seatbelt gong
o I also lowered the car 15mm using VCDS (I can change back to stock or lower further is requested)
So, having said all of that the absolute main reason you should consider buying this car (if you want a really fast S8) is because of the owner. You want to buy a car like this from a total car nut who obsessively makes sure that every single thing in the car works and works perfectly. You want to buy a car like this from a nut that is friends with an Audi Master Tech who is actually from Germany and who is the only one who works on this car. Well, as you might have guessed, I am that nut and that is exactly this car.
Every single thing works, it drives with no vibrations, it is unbelievably fast and incredibly smooth and quiet. As for the looks, you can see that part for yourself but between the color combination, the wheels, tires and stance it looks very tough and very tasteful. Also, no dings, no scratches and it has been maintained by a Master Detailer who makes me look like a normal car owner in comparison.
By the way, if youre wondering why I would let go of such a fantastic car the answer is simple: Ive had it 7 years and have the itch to get something new and I only have a two-car garage and my wife gets the other spot!
***I also have the original 21 wheels with 265/35R21 tires and will sell those with the vehicle for an extra $1.000***
