    Who can identify these parts? Possibly part of C5 trunk lock mechanism.

    I removed the trunk lining on a C5 RS6 and these two (metal) pieces just fell out:



    The tip of one is bent and the other looks to be a little chewed up.

    No idea where they came from but have to assume that they were from some part of the trunk lock?

    The trunk would not latch, so the only thing out of sorts was the lock/pop solenoid was failed in the extended position which permanently keep the trunk open.

    Other than that, everything else looks to be intact and works fine.

    For what it's worth, I figured out what these pieces were from. Spring loaded trunk 'bumpers' that help pop up the trunk when the actuator unlocks it.
