Hello everyone, hope you are doing well.

Anyhow I have A3 8P 2006 with DEPO tail light from PA version. Previous owner put them on the car but after some investigation I noticed that with tail light there is an harnes that is used to make tail lights plug and play.

So the issue is that my brake lights on right tail light after 2 years of owning car died on me or so I thought so. After some thinckering I notticed that one of 2 black boxes had epoxy crack, so I thought it is completly dead cuz I didn't have brake lights at all, so I took power from factory harness and gave it right to the bulbs. Issue is that when I turn on headlights and LED strip with it brake lights also illuminate ever so slightly because car sends 3V to them, and when I press brake light car sends 12V. There was no errors on dashboard at all.

So I pulled everything back, made that harness stock again pluged it in and behold they did work (brake lights) but now when I turn on headlights there is no resistance on 3V rail and car thinks that there are no bulbs in, but when I press brake, lights come alive and error gets reseted, then I let go of brake and error is shown.

How could I solve this issue, I thought if I put some 6ohm resistor from factory harness connector to ground of tail light connector will it over heat and will it pull enough current so I wouldn't have error on dash.
